To be fair to Godse, his reasons for doing what he did were somewhat valid. Gandhi's non violent method did cause a lot of causalities and Nehru was an inefficient political leader, despite history saying otherwise Nehru is one of the main reasons we faced so many setbacks. Sardar Vallabhai Patel was the best option for the PM position, if he was there instead of Nehru, the map depicted here by Godse wouldve been the actual map of India. Even if many don't agree, Gandhi and Nehru were faulty to a huge extent but the presence of Gandhi held a huge impact, which still makes Gandhi important but Nehru is just overrated.

There is no way to pull someone out of the well of hatred in a snap, he is been feed with propaganda every single day for months. No one should ever be proud of the things he didn't achieve with his efforts and should not fall for any hate speeches or should not believe he belongs to a superior class or should not fall for politicians or their workers who instigate violence because the ones who instigate(politicians and religious gurus) never get killed in any riots in India they just enjoy the votes of majority group people and live peacefully by making innocent people feel violent or feared, and telling them I am your savior and savior of our group/religion and do as I say if you want to survive kill them before they kill you. I don't want to compare with other nations I should not compare with other nations but I feel like India has seen a lot worse than you can imagine. Bhagat Singh's father said that Bhagat Singh told him, "Let me be hanged. You just need to support Mahatma Gandhi in this journey". When I was a kid I saw Gandhi on our notes and thought he must be a great person that's why he is known as the father of the nation. When I reached high school I got to know about Godse and his ideologies and the first thought was Godse is right. However I learned more. I read multiple books on Gandhi and what the greatest of people like Einstein or Sardar patel thought of him. I read all his ideologies and from where he got inspirations and later formed my own mind that "He was one of the greatest people to ever be born on this land". It has always been so complicated, we have grown out of gandhi's heroism that we were taught in schools.. Growing up I had found it difficult to criticize godse.. Many people call the assasination as "necessary evil" but killing is something that that can't be accepted..We don't know what would have happened if Gandhi continued to live...he had an extreme influence on the people and his "extreme goodness" was leading to sufferings of his own people.. India and Indians sacrificed ,people wanted to free akhand bharat,not divide it, people fought together for it but at the end turned against each other.. And even after that expecting people to sacrifice for our "brothers".. "If someone slaps you, put you other cheek forward" this ideology did great harm than good.. There are different perspective on all this..But one thing was sure that India didn't get independence as peacefully as it has been portrayed.. Many had lost their lives.. The journey had been brutal , cruel, horrendous.. Basically what happened was that Gandhiji was being too biased towards Hindus, at that time Hindus were being abused and killed by muslims, dirty acts of violence without any mercy towards Hindu women and children and men were being done by the muslims and Gandhiji was continuously telling the Hindus to keep quite when he shud have stopped the Muslims, where things actually turned around was when Many Hindu men were killed, houses were set on fire, women were rap*d, children were killed and Gandhiji had the nerve to blame Hindus for their own loss?? I don't see how he was being equal at all, he was even willing to send food supplies to Pakistan when people in India were starving, bec of his extremist thinking that non violence is the only key, many more violence terrorism acts followed from Pakistans side and in return Gandhiji was still chanting non violence, Gandhiji was the type of person who believed that if someone slaps us on one cheek we should put forward our other cheek for his to slap us again... Plus he was only helping the Muslims and overlooking the torture Hindus were going through, in all this he was also the one who signed the partition contract and we all know the consequences that it brought with it... Now if after all this you all still think Gandhi was a good guy then idk what's wrong with u. Not only that After godse killed Gandhi, the Congress didn't waste any time to show their dirty colours incase u did know, they targeted the Hindus and for 50 years Hindus were suppressed, by naming godse a terrorist they themselves showed how much biased they r when they suppressed rss, also for those who don't know history, the English didn't leave India bec of Gandhiji, the contract was signed in 1942 while they left india in 1947, and it wasn't bec of Gandhi, it was bec of AZAD HIND FAUZ AND OUR BELOVED NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE. Hence i don't see in any way how Gandhi was a good guy, and especially for a Hindu in that era what Gandhi did, how could have expected Hindus to stay quite right? So godse action of killing were wrong but we can't blame him after reading what all Gandhi did, plus calling Godse. Terrorist is wrong since in terrorist attacks many innocent people r killed, that what terrorist attacks means, in this case only Gandhi was killed and others were unharmed, hence i don't see any reason to respect Gandhiji, bec of him Indians have been tortured bec of his extreme non violence, if you want freedom some amount of violence is gonna be needed but this guy was set out and ready to sacrifice Indians and even asked them to not fight back. Hindu's accept or might accept Muslims as their brother's but muslims do not. The religion does not allow them to do that. Well I know how it looks, Gandhi is the Saint who wants to save humanity, and Godse is the religious fanatic who kills him. But let me tell you it's a bit more complex, the fight was not between Gandhi or Godse, well not directly, it's between two ideologies - one wanting purna swaraj(complete independence) and another wanting dominion status and advocating extreme non violence (Gandhianism) - I'm a bit oversimplifying. Political Assaisination was wrong and Godse was put to justice, but I certainly think this movie leans towards Gandhi quite a bit.
