If u are a girl( from South also) even a little bit of increased melanin might decrease ur chances of getting married( by arranged marriage). Lord Krishna is depicted blue, not because he was dark, but because he was an enlightened being, an avatar to be precise, and in India all the enlightened beings are represented to emit stable but intense bluish aura(the blue part of fire which is hottest, yet stable part of the flame and completely burns everything representative of all biases, attachments & the ego), be it Lord Vishnu (& his complete avatars of Lord Ram & Lord Krishna) or be it Lord Shiva or be it Devi Kaali. That being said, a lot of things said by him is true, especially regarding the colour bias. This is so ingrained that even after understanding the truth behind it, it is still not very easy to get out of the fair skin standards set in our minds!

I m also south indian my color is also same . When it come to women their behaviour remain same whether color of the skin of boy is black or white. The color of Krishna was not black it was dark blue . Read the BhagwadGeeta properly
