Perhaps I was the only one that broke down imagining Mrs. Sengupta's emotional conundrum in the climax scene. Speak up and lose everything in a moment or have everything she had lost returned back to her by staying quiet. You could actually see her mind and heart waging a war quietly. How heartbreaking it must have been for her to act selflessly in that moment ! What an amazingly written Character and was portrayed even more amazingly by Ileana D'Cruz !

I still remember when the award shows happened in 2013 for all the movies of the preceeding year, Barfi was one movie that literally won almost all the awards. Best movie, best director, best actor and actress, best debut for Ileana, best music...you name it...they had every award! Well deserved too! ❤

That scene went away in a blink. People don't even remember it mostly. But every now and then I think so much about it. How Shruti kept all the pictures with Jhilmil folded out of them. Maybe just to pretend that, it was her who was living the life she always wanted, it was her instead of Jhilmil who got to love Barfi, it was her who Barfi loved back. Maybe lying to herself every night, alone, where no one would judge her, in secrecy, pretending, and living her fantasies.

This movie is a masterpiece! How incredible it was that almost all of the actors in it were bang on! Achara is as usually in her best emotional state as she knows Indian cinema from her heart, Julia will soon start to feel the pulse as she'll watch more of Indian cinema! i like this DUO because,Both feels and see all the aspects of the movie yet one has overflow emotion while other one does feel it through and through but doesn't necessarily show it on face. after this movie ends i am pretty sure achara was off the hook while julia definitely went home thought about the movie at least before going to bed.

The character names have meaning too! Barfi - is a very common and loved sweet in India. Shruti - is a word for a musical note in Indian classical music. Jhilmil - means Shimmering, like the light effects she's so fascinated with.

I actually felt the opposite lol. All of the acting was obviously great but I don't think Ileana's acting was so difficult or super amazing compared to the others. I felt like she was just doing her job, acting, and it was great but PC and Ranbir's acting was phenomenal. Iv'e watched movies with PC's character and it is kind of hard to watch because it comes off so obnoxious, but the way PC played Jhilmil felt natural and consistent throughout the entire movie. Considering the fact that she was playing a girl with level 3 autism. Her small acting was great, others have played the levell 3 autism character overboard.

One more thing I like to add here that I didn't read in any comments or hear in the discussion, is the number of sacrificial or selfless behaviour around Barfi and Jhilmil that led to their union - the inspector, despite his resentment towards Barfi, risking his job by calling Shruti so that Barfi can live a better life, Daju at the Muskaan centre sending off Jhilmil with her parents just so that she can spend time with her loving grandpa (and even going as far as helping her parents in their evil plan to get her money, just so that she can have a happy life), Barfi's friend always helping him carry out his stupid plans despite knowing that he too could have gotten into serious trouble, and lastly Shruti sacrificing her love for Barfi's happiness. It's so pure - plain and simple! ❤ Loved your reaction and discussion btw ❤

Barfi always tested others if they would leave him or not, but he never had to prove it to anyone yet whether he loved them enough or not. Jhilmil was the only one who tested his resolve, although very immaturely, by leaving and waiting to see if Barfi ever returned.

Ranveer Singh's choice of career has propelled him to become a bigger star in the present day. However, it is films like these that have led to Ranbir Kapoor being regarded as a superior actor by a wider audience, in my opinion. I hold a similar view, which may not be widely accepted, regarding Srk and Aamir. Srk became the epitome of love and romance for my generation, solidifying his status as the biggest star. Nonetheless, a few movies done by Aamir Khan firmly established him as a more accomplished/versatile actor.
