@pikypix48523 жыл бұрын
@Rosie Debens the language center (brocas area) is in the left hemisphere tho:/ switching back to italian could just be a conquense of pure shock, the laughing as well... him not being able to see could make sense cause the ice pick might've gone through the optic nerve or optic chiasm (even tho it looks like the pick was a bit too high for that). more likely it went through the orbitofrontal cortex in the frontal lobe but he wasn't alive long enough to start acting on his impulses and being unable to control himself etc so idk. i think its more interesting how he bled out so fast... but i cant say for sure how accurate this is cause i havent seen it happen irl lol, i guess we cant rely too much on tv shows for completely accurate depictions of anatomy. phineas gage literally got a spike through his head, though, and survived - so maybe if someone got stabbed irl like that they wouldnt necessarily die? and no way it went thru the amygdala cause thats located deeper in the brain, more towards the back

@@pikypix4852 That pick went right through the meningea media artery. Even if we don't take that into account, head wounds bleed profusely, specially those that penetrate the skull. @pikypix48523 жыл бұрын
@@Gusanoman oh, i didnt know that, thanks for the info! Could you explain what could be the mechanisms/pathways for damaging the thalamus in this case? That's the best part about Mikkelsen's Hannibal. He's not fully formed. He has fun with life, he enjoys his food, his fashion and he likes to enjoy people. He toys with both good people and bad, but hes far from perfect himself. He doesn't look down on humans but rather sees them as potential play mates. Unless they are rude of course. Anthony Hopkins Hannibal was fully mature and already knew everything about life. He had no problem blending in with humans, but he didn't want to.

Hannibal has become pretty impulsive all through Season 3. He was more reckless than ever and didn't plan too much. I think it's because of his break up with Will.

It was his plan all along, to get caught. He wasn't reckless at all. Seems like "you weren't paying attention".
@vivenkeful8 жыл бұрын
+Avyan Shankar I mostly meant his killings. He kills impulsively out of emotions, many times not planning it entirely in Season 3. Like this one. I know he planned to kill him, but he kills him out of a swift emotion. Just like he says "That may have been impulsive." Just like Anthony Dimmond. He could have killed him on the first dinner but no. Sure, if he planned to get caught then that is the reason why he doesn't care. Though saying that from the very first episode he wanted to get caught would be really funny. I mean he just escaped... True that he probably wants to get caught by Mason not the FBI I guess. But for instance the same is with the bone saw, when he wanted to eat Will's brain. That was partly suggested by Bedelia but partly it was imo because Will tried to kill him before that. So he was reckless in a way in Season 3.

I believe the reason that this scene was so effective in messing with the audience is because up to this point you never actually see hannibal kill someone like this he snaps some necks and split the doctors head open but we usually just saw the aftermath but this was the first time we see him in the act of it and it's shocking because as the audience we aren't used to seeing him so impulsive and well..........violent but here he just out of no where stabs him in the head and by the looks of it, it was unplanned unlike his earlier kills which are methodical and planned out but that's just my reading of it maybe I'm way off here
