He actually did explain. He said the process was unplanned. That it was just the two of them getting spontaneously together; or else what ever they made would be less than they hoped. He also said he had stores of little sounds/lines in his head that he was too embarrassed to share in front of a group; but that he could be one-on-one with someone like Taylor and just bounce things off one another. THAT is his writing process in a nutshell.

Yes! And I'm excited because from what I've heard so far it seems he didn't overproduce her, which is something that apparently a lot of producers are tempted to. So many of her songs from Born To Die were much better in the live version because of the production.
