Peace and Love to this Brother. He and his tambourine are the key to the Motown sound.

Bless you Black Jack, you and your fellow muscians created music that will last forever. The greatest trivia question is who had more number 1 hits than the Beatles, Elvis, Stones, whoever . The Funk Brothers. Thanks to Pistol, Eddie, James, Robert, Babbitt, Joe, Messina, Bongo Eddie, Van Dyke, Mr. Jones on the drums, plus those who went ahead . Thank you for all the memories . Mike

I come across the Funk Bros at the start of the Covid lockdown but realised I'd been listening to them from the 70s with their great Motown sound. Such talented musicians! Their music will continue!

Hero Sir Jack Ashford!! (one correction: Exodus 15:20-21 tells us: Then the prophet Miriam, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, while all the women went out after her with tambourines.....) LOVE Mr Ashford's work, respect!!!!!!!

Used to live in this man's house in Detroit found alot of treasures in the basement of the few record labels he ran out of his house on Whitewood and milford. It's currently being renovated and it looks awesome. I should speak to the new homeowner and tell him the history of the house to maybe get it distinguished as a historical landmark because I swear there was a recording studio on the second floor .
