To be fair to Sam darnold, the pocket was collapsing around him in the Red zone as well. So he was throwing out of rhythm or while being chased quite a bit. He was also hit 10 times in this game and pressured far more. Most quarterbacks, if not all quarterbacks, would struggle in that situation. Situation. I'm a Lions fan by the way so I'm not making excuses for Sam. Just giving reasons why he was likely off.

Yes, Darnold was bad. But Jefferson two drops, Hockensen one drop or two, Van Ginkel dropped what would have been a pick six. I'm willing to blame Darnold and I think he had a very poor game but the route running wasn't good. Help your QB when he is struggling by getting open.
