man i tasted this Evan Williams honey and i get like Sunkist orange with honey on it pretty tasty. i think it would go good in an old fashioned instead of using simple syrup use Evan Williams honey
@keepingitneat11 ай бұрын
Wow thinking of what you just said we will need to try that and see how it comes out. The Evan Williams is definitely sweet enough to not need simple syrup. Could even be used in a Gold Rush in place of the honey. Thank you so much for the great idea. Cheers!!!

I do have to say, Evan Williams Honey and lemonade is an absolutely amazing combo! Try it if you haven't.

What the hell's wrong Evan Williams? Evan Williams Honey is the only thing I've been drinking for the last several years. This new version with the orange label on the bottom sucks. The woman in the liquor store warned me that it wasn't the same recipe, and that people had been complaining about it. I purchased a half gallon anyway. It sucks. It's like being a Pepsi lover and discovering the last bottle of Pepsi you bought tastes like Coke, and is totally flat. No one will be buying this after they taste it. I hope they are saving plenty in production. And I hope it's enough to make putting one of the nicest flavored bourbons down the drain, which is just where this half gallon is going.

Awesome review gents! I love the EW Honey too, but i like the old bottle that y'all review. The new bottle tastes nothing like honey and ALL like vanilla. Review the new bottle, which has a paper label and not a clear label and tell me what u think. I am pissed!

Thank you so much. We did this one a while ago as you can see by the bottle. I love the idea of reviewing the new bottle and maybe do a comparison to old batch which I do believe we still have some left. Thank you for watching and commenting. Cheers!

Before I watched this comparison I just (incorrectly) thought all the honey whiskeys are basically the same. Seeing your reactions I went out and bought some of the Evan Williams and this stuff sure is good, especially with the citrus notes. Thanks for doing this, I will continue to buy it.

Glad you liked the comparison. We will keep doing these as they seem to be doing well and showing people what's out there for options.

@@keepingitneat I experimented with dilutions last night, using Evan Williams BiB 100 proof to cut it, I ended up with 1/3 EW Honey plus 2/3 EW BiB as my favorite mix, which results in a good sipping 90 proof whiskey with a nice layer of honey/citrus flavor.

@@txmike1945 you are like our own experimental laboratory scientist!! I love what you are doing with the flavored whiskeys trying to get the flavor but also get a higher proof at same time! Another mix I need to try at my house now! Thanks you!!

@@keepingitneat Well I am a Chemist! :) Just to be clear, I like the EW Honey just fine, neat, as a small after dinner dram. But also to me the dilution with EW BiB 100 makes it even better as a sipper, and I am also keeping it "all in the EW family". In general I am a fan of the various EW offerings, and in particular the EW BiB 100, a remarkably good bourbon at a bargain price.

I love both of these. My favorite thing to do is get some farmers honey and mix a little with water, bring it to a boil and let it cool. After that I mix it with some Gentleman Jack and toss it in the freezer. Really really good.

Awesome!! We will have to try your idea. We just found a new honey we love. Cheers!

Don't know how many will see this almost 2 months later, but I did one additional thing that worked well, as a complement of the citrus notes in the Evan Williams Honey. I peeled a Navel Orange and dried the peel for 45 minutes at 220F. Then I added a couple of pieces to 3 ounces of EW BiB 100 proof bourbon. After soaking for a week it gets a very aromatic citrus nose and taste. Then I added a small amount to my dram of EW Honey whiskey and WOW does it make a nice blend. For those of us who appreciate the citrus notes, which goes very well with the alcohol and the honey.

I like both, I tend to go for Jack more, but sometimes I have to revisit the Evan one just to have something a little different. One thing I noticed about these honey whiskies, is no honey whiskey tastes the same. Every whiskey company has their own way they make their honey liqueur that they blend with their whiskey and each does it in a unique and different way. The only way I can drink whiskey tbh are these honey whiskies, call me a wuss, but I'm actually glad these companies came out with the honey flavors, I love honey so that in and of itself got me interested in drinking whiskey. So this is coming from someone who, if they had never came out with these honey whiskies, they would have never had me as a customer.

The flavored whiskey we think is a great way for people to get into whiskey. The right way to drink whiskey is however you like it. So whether its flavored or in a mixed drink as long as you enjoy it thats all that matters. With so many flavored whiskies on the market there is something for everyone. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
