Wow! Now all we need to continue to be blessed by Mr. Dejohnette is to have his concerts on 4K Blu-ray UHD disc. Example: " out of print " PIONEER/ Jack Dejohnette, Dave Holland, Herbie Hancock and Pat Metheny. Physical Media Rules in every way: hands down.

He's the master of playing broken time. Never loses the pulse. Makes it look easy

Saw Jack and the trio in Tokyo about 20 years ago. Great show.

Indeed. One thing I have noticed over the years is Jack’s seemingly odd arrangements of his kits, cymbals here, drums oddly over there. I wonder now if it’s intentional-in order to spur creativity? 🤔

I usually get bored with most drum solos in a minute or two (not that i could play them at all!!) Can't stop watching...

Jack just thinks differently than any other drummer. He'll do stuff at first you'll think, "damn that was kind of sloppy", then he'll finish the lick and you think "oh wait, was it? I guess not". The way he phrases things is just different.

Great solo but the part that knocks me out is at 16:57. It suddenly got a lot more interesting.
