The 2023 US Open main draw runs from August 28 - September 10 in New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first US Open title, with Alcaraz winning his first Grand Slam title and Swiatek winning her third Grand Slam title. Concerning to see how Drapers energy levels dropped off a cliff. Shame, he was in this match early sets. 😢

You have to remember that Draper had a long injury lay off. He then returned for the Winston-Salem tournament, had an easy first round win, but then had to pull out after a tight first set versus Griekspoor, so this was his first full tournament in months. In that case to get as far as he has and to push Rublev for over two sets is pretty remarkable. It may be that he has issues in hot and humid weather but he'll be able to work on that. He's got all the weapons to take out plenty of big names.

@@arsenalfan2014 I'd agree. Dan Evans, the only player yet to take a set off Alcaraz this tournament has a 3-3 record against Rublev since 2020 (8-8 in all career matches). If he can't do the business more consistently against a decent player like Evans, how can he expect to overcome world no.1 Alcaraz?
