That is not the first time he appeared as an extra. He appeared as an extra some years before- as an unmaed role , playing a hired help behind the bar at the rovers at a wedding reception which was being held in the select (the Rovers function room which 'disappeared' after the Rovers fire in which Bet Lynch nearly perished) He also appreard another time about the same time as a rovers patron playing darts.

He appeared as a extra regularly for at least two years before playing Jack. On one occasion he was the one who dropped the bar flap on Ernie Bishops hand and broke it.
