Fun video! I bought a non-working Jack in the Box I am trying to get back in service. Your video made me even more excited to get it back in action!

Thanks for your comment and greetings from germany! In my opinion the Gottlieb EMs are among the hardest to repair ones. Good luck on your mission!

I love these old EM machines. Back in the days, in 1981 Automaten Hoffmann in Essen advertised in the papers a free 10 page "catalogue" with the pinball machines they had on offer. "Jack in the Box" was one of the premium machines with "Target Alpha" being the most expensive one at $10000 Mark! That was about half the price of a new VW Golf at he time. I was 14 and those were way out of my league. Years later I ended up buying a Bally "Centaur" from them. Prices had dropped quite a bit, I think I paid around $1300. I now live in Australia and found a "Target Alpha" on FB Marketplace but when I enquired, it had already been sold...bummer...

Great machine and thanks for sharing this. I always liked the backglass. ...so easy on the eyes.

Thank you for your comment. Jack in the Box is a friendly looking machine. But a hidden beast in gameplay! One of the best!

Uncle Tomy! Love your videos man! Can you do a tour of your collection with few comments about each machine? Would love to see that

😀😃😄😁😀😃😄😁 Thanks for your comment. Easier said than done! There are so many machines in my collection that it is impossible to place them all. Maybe this dream might come true one day....You will be the first to see it.

Brutal table! Those drop targets are so challenging. BTW, is that a Gottlieb Haunted House I keep hearing in the background?

Thanks for your comment! Well - it is the HULK (watch my video!) which appears in the background. Sounds similar to Haunted House in a way.

This game has a problem, when all of the drop targets are down, if the ball flies into the rebound zone, the targets will reset and trap the ball and you have to open up the glass to fix this

Thanks for your comment. This is very, very interesting! I've never experienced it myself, but it's definitely conceivable. No wonder that the JACK IN THE BOX pinball machines often had double rubber behind the drop targets. I always wondered...

There's a way to cheat, just as the ball jumps out of those 2 top eject holes, give the game a heavy shove, like a bang, with the palms with your hands, and the ball will fall back into the eject hole. You can do this as many times as you like and run your score up to replay

Very, very interesting. I will try this next time I challenge my good friend on this pinball machine again.
