In complaining about who was chosen for series 7, you have to take into account that some actors may not have been available. Mike Bailey (Sid) for example, is said to have turned it down to focus on other projects. And Nicholas Hoult (Tony) has been pretty busy lately as well.

yeah, but in skins fire, if you really notice effys boss that she had a fling with, he was very similar to freddie. his looks, his attitude, except freddie was more loving and emotionally invested in effy. but yeah. its supposed to be like 7 years in their futures, so you have to assume that they have accepted freddies death and moved on

I think out of all the character plots in season 7 I liked Cooks the best. I felt like he was the only one who really grew up. He was definitely different and a lot of it has to do with because he killed a man and I think he was able to get out of his Cook character where he was self destructive. With Effy nothing really changed much about her. I mean she did look better and had a job, but she was still the same selfish Effy. I do commend her for coming forward though.

So the choice was based on the most popular characters? I can see why they chose Effy (probably the most favourite though I didn't really care for), and squeezed in Naomily, who were also well loved. I love Cassie but I thought that people preferred Tony from series 1. Also would've imagined Frankie or Mini to be contenders, or perhaps it's too soon for them. Cook was always popular as well. Rough round the edges but a good heart that loves his friends. His character is the most well developed

Cassie was also a favorite character of mine which I was happy to see she was doing well and eating. But, I felt like she didn't get much of a resolution. I think that she was right in not letting her brother go with her dad, but I wish she would have found some happiness. One main thing with Skin's was I didn't get the sense of resolution I expected. While they touched a little on what happened between Cassie and Sid and then Cook killing that guy they didn't even mention Freddie.

at some point in Rise, Cook was sleeping in Em's bed and quick dream/flashback popped up with the police and a police dog at Foster's door with blood on the little window too. and he woke up from that like it was a nightmare. so probably his bad memory related to the person he said he's killed. Foster was a douche. and so is Louie haha
