I don't even have words to convey my love for this song. It makes me really happy. Jack Parow gets a lot of shit for being somewhat superficial and for having "stupid" lyrics. This song is so deep. The lyrics are genius. I feel sorry for people that can't speak Afrikaans because it's a song I'd like everyone to be able to understand.

I have won a lot but I lost just as much, I have felt that life is suffocating me. I have sat on the top of mountain, I have sat in the front row of a church. Take me back to Langkloof and my grandmother's farm. I want to chase sheep with my sister, sit on my granddad's lap, listen to stories about yesterday. I want to run in long grass until my legs can't go anymore.

Install in: LyricWiki Jack Parow:Tussen Stasies Table of Contents Tussen Stasies This song is by Jack Parow and appears on the album Jack Parow (2010).

Stanza 4: I sleep late every morning because the world can wait till tomorrow. I have to wait, no, I have to move on, get rid of my feelings. So I walk, I become empty. I sit alone on one end of the see saw, I pray for another weight, to jump on the other side. But the fingers of my feelings are scratching deep into my mind.

RESPECT FOR THE DUTCH-AFRIKAANS WORLD!

translation: stanza 1. I've lost a lot of things, never finding it again. I've told my mom many times I'm not a child anymore. Life is too hard and I don't understand the point anymore. I'm standing next to a big wooden pyre, I have no flint. I'm cold on my own, I just want a little warmth. Everyone is rich with love, but I'm the poorest again. Some days I feel like I'm dying from hunger. There's a hollow pit in my stomach where I hide in the darkness.

But there's an angry old man next to my bed and he tells me to stand strong - So I pull the blanket over my head and lie with open feet - And I walk the long road in my father's big shoes - Chrous - If we stand on the end of the long road next to the trainline (spoor) - There's just darkness ahead, I stand and shiver - It gets blacker and there's just silence that I hear.. hold my hand, tight against your side. Do you still love me? - Will you find me in Heaven? -- Maybe I'll do the rest.

translation: stanza 2. I'm broken on the inside like the toys I had as a child. If I walk away today all my belongings will fit in a small suitcase. I need some time to wash the ashes off of me. But the soldiers on my walls keep attacking with tear gas. I lie under a patchwork blanket, trying to add new blocks. But a strict man is standing next to my bed saying stay strong. I pull the blanket over my head leaving my feet open. I walk on the road trying to fill my dad's big shoes.

Loose translation: I've lost a lot of stuff before And never ever found it again I told my mother many times before, I am no longer a child Life is hard and I don't understand the point I stood next to a large pile of wood, But I no longer have a flint I get cold on my own I just want a little heat Everyone is rich with love and I am again the poorest Some days I feel as if I die of hunger There's an empty spot in my stomach that I hide in the darkness I broken inside as all my toys were when I was little If today I stepped away will all my stuff fit into a small suitcase I just need a little while to wash off the ash But the soldiers on the wall bombs me with tear gas I lay under a quilt and still trying to reattach blocks, But there is a great uncle next to my bed that says to me: Stand firm So I pulled the blanket over my head and lay open feet And walking the long road in my father's shoes Chorus (Pierre Greef): As we stand at the end of the road along the track There was only darkness before I stood trembling It gets blacker and there is only silence I hear hold my hand tightly along your side Do you still love me? Will you find me at the gates of heaven? We hold each other but no one will really be yours We write letters to each other that we never really read because there's always a loser in Russian Roulette I must go, I have to work, but I'm stuck in bed I walk around looking for a spot to sit vacant buildings I tried to find myself in drinking and empty relationships I sit and write poetry, but is my poems poetry? and I shout their voices in the night with my head in the pillow I lay for hours in the pool with my head under the water I sleep in everyday because the world can wait until later I have to wait, no, move on to get rid of my feelings so I walk, I get blank with great actions without meaning I sit alone on one end of the seesaw I pray again for a seat but I sat there and I'm waiting for someone to jump on one side but the fingers of my feelings scratch deep in my mind Chorus (Pierre Greef): As we stand at the end of the long road along the track There was only darkness before I stood trembling It gets blacker and there is only silence I hear hold my hand tightly along your side I have won by far and lost by far a lot I've often felt like life is smothering me I've been going out on the top of the mountain I've been going out in front of the church take me back to the Long Valley and my grandmother's farm I want to join my sister herding the sheep into the barn I would sit on my grandfather's lap and hear stories of the past I would walk through the grass until I got paralyzed in the knees Chorus (Pierre Greef): We are listening to the Lord and the devil on our fight the sad past In the end all I want to hear roll over your tongue: That you want to stay with me Will you get me to the gates of heaven?

Stanza 3: we hold tightly onto each other but no one will truly be yours. We write letters to each other that we never really read. There is always one loser in russian roulette. I have to go out, I have to work, but I'm stuck in bed. I walk around trying to find a place to rest in empty buildings. I try to find myself in booze and empty relationships. I write poems but does poetry become poetic? I scream at night with my head underneath my pillow, I lay in the tub with my head under water.

@i90Christian13 жыл бұрын
