I never even heard of this mustang way back then. Wow so way ahead of it's time. Awesome
@pastorofmuppets3255 жыл бұрын
Well they did only make one of them, so not many people did hear about it. It would have cost AN ABSOLUTE FORTUNE back then to produce, so it's pretty obvious why they didn't bring it to market.

It wasn't the tires that caught on fire. What happened was a trans cooler line burst and sprayed oil onto the hot exhaust, igniting it. I got this story from one of the original creators of this car at SVT. The car was designed and built for exhibition use aka burnouts and generally showing off, so it was being used as intended.
@iamgriff2 жыл бұрын
You are correct, SVT is also known as the Allen Park test lab. You can see the uniroyal tire from the parking lot. I have a few family members that worked there. I got to sit inside this car many years ago

WOW!...1.9 sec.s in 0-60 Times...and this was back in 1994! The only other car that beat this 0-60 time was in 2015 by a 2015 Infiniti Formula 1 Red Bull RB11 at 1.7 sec.s in 0-60! I'll give an Honorable mention to Lingenfelter in his 2002 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Twin Turbo, 0-60 time of 1.97 sec.s...God Bless America!

Seriously? If German engineering uses 10L he would be 1500HP with 0-60 for 1 seconds :) American cars need 5L or more V8 engines to beat I4 or V6 german engines :) Volkswagen Golf R rapes your Ford Focus ST even your horseshit 5.0 :)
@GMbowtie3508 жыл бұрын
+Deutsch Boy Does the Golf R do 0-60 in like 5 seconds? Mustang was doing that in 2005 with the 4.6. You compared it to the Focus like that's the car to beat. The Focus ST is an affordable quick car for college kids. That's all. If you think that a Golf is anywhere near a Coyote you've never driven either one of them. German junk.
@GMbowtie3508 жыл бұрын

I sat in that car once. Another time I saw that car on a lift withvtge transmission removed. Benefits of having a fabricator employed at Roush in my family. I also got to sit inside a legit NASCAR super truck, and the mustang super stallion. I even saw Jay Leno’s Harley Davison F-150, and a ranger with a 4.6 liter V8, wearing a explorer front clip.

Probably has to do with the marketing surrounding the 302 CI motor. It's rounded up to 5.0L when it should be rounded down to 4.9L. It would also be confusing because ford had a 4.9L V6 at the same time. The 5.0 sounds better from a sales perspective. Double the 5.0 and you get 10.0
