Jack passed away in 2019. He had been suffering from Alzheimers and Parkinsons and our Lord said it was time to stop the suffering. In the whole big r&r history picture he is so under appreciated given his song catalog, much of which was written by him.

@@jaysonb.6669 His death on 12/12/2019 was made public by a niece. He had a massive heart attack on 12/08/2019 and live four days afterwards. The other health items that I mentioned were brought up during an interview with a long time associate after his death. Coroner ruled it congestive heart failure. That said, the YT clips of him giving a concert in 08/2018 do not show any type of cognitive or parkinson problems. We are all well aware how " internet stories must be true fact " tales grow. No matter. In 2018 he still had that pure voice and great tone. One of those artist that influenced countless musicians through the years and many of them had no clue who the man was. 👌🙏

I remember dancing to a lot of Jack Scott's songs while in high school. I have a CD of his songs that I made some time ago and I play it at the car shows that I go to with my '58 Corvette. So many people just stop at my car just to listen to Jack. He was probably one of the first Kings of Rock-A-Billy.

I was 11 years old, and in grade 5, when this song was a hit on the radio. I remember, I had my own true love at the time. I still remember her name. She was beautiful. Nothing else mattered. Those were the greatest times. Thanks Jack, for giving us such timeless music.

My True Love Jack Scott I prayed to the Lord to send a love He sent me an angel from Heaven above The stars in the skies, He placed in her eyes She is my true love The touch of her hand captured my soul And the kiss from her lips set my heart aglow And I know from Heaven, From Heaven above Came my, my true love Darling, I love you, I'll always be true; my prayers They were answered and the Lord sent me you With love and devotion that I never knew Until the Lord above sent me you And I thank the Heaven The Heaven above For sending my true love My true love! I prayed to the Lord to send a love He sent me an angel from Heaven above The stars in the skies, he placed in her eyes She is my true love

Thank you so much for this uploaded song. I was in the 10th grade and from this song forward have been a rabid Jack Scott fan! Hard to believe Jack is now 82; he looks better than I do and I'm just about to turn 76. My best H.S. buddy was from Alabama; we met in the Summer of 1956 when he had moved from outside of Huntsville, Alabama and I from Pennsylvania the same month (June) in the same year (1956) and just around the corner from each other on the same block! We've been friends ever since, he's only six weeks younger that me and is now an itinerant Preacher and I'm a lettered Th.M.; now retired; however he continues to travel on to various places & is still preaching! The difficult thing to know and believe about Wayne and I is that we were absolute Hellions all through school, but that didn't even begin to compare to the wild life we lived in our 20's and 30's! It was in the mid-60's that Wayne eventually went away to the Army and I to the Navy and in a Special Warfare Team (UDT/SEAL-2). After that we hooked back up in the early 70's in Ohio and that's when the unrighteous living began once again; and this time to a fever pitch! Then the LORD called us (Wayne first and me a few years later); the result is that we both have families now with Grandchildren (and Wayne, who settled down long before me) has Great-Grandchildren. Of course there were several years during this past 63 years of our friendship when we didn't see each other for extended periods of time, and in fact, lost track of each other when I moved down to Texas, where my and my family lived for 25 years! One day I get a call out of the blue, and it's Wayne! He said that he'd been going through his desk and found a phone number that I'd given him years before. We're now both in Ohio and see each other every couple of months or so, unfortunately for too brief periods of time. Back in High School, we always thought that Jack was a Southern Boy (Wayne certainly was!), and the fact that the Jordanaires backed his music just proved that to us; however, later in life we discovered his real (given) name and the place of his birth along with his living in Michigan! Thanks again for this uploaded song and may God Bless you! (And Jack)! Sorry for the long comment but thought it may be an interesting. I'd love to see Jack in concert now, but being a DAV (Disabled American Veteran) prevents me from straying too far from home.
