Norrington is worried about how he’s going to get married and support his wife whilst commanding the royal army. Compare that to: Elizabeth’s corset being too tight. Even the original comment’s comparison is moronic.

DillonYalvis no one was saying anything against men and there problems. You just seem to be way over defensive and quite wrong with most of your facts. Jack didn't know who Elizabeth was and probably didn't expect that saving her would put him in any real danger. That said, I think it's funny that the movie starts with him performing a selfless act, demonstrating early on that he has at least some sense of decency and a moral center. It's not like he had anything to gain from saving her --- he just realized those soldiers were useless and knew it was the only thing to do without really thinking twice about it. Despite all the cheating and backstabbing he does throughout the series, it's clear he does have regard for other people --- he just has a tendency to put that aside when his own life is at risk. Which, while not exactly honorable, is pretty human when you think about it.
