Good lord... Seeing Catherine's battered and bruised body is just so sad. None of these women deserved the fate that came upon them :( I wonder how scarring this event was for their friends and acquaintances, after all, they had children, friends, lovers... Really depressing when you think about it :/

You would be surprised how indifferent the people of the area were. There's lots of general interest reporting in the two/three years after the murders and people are nonchalant to a shocking degree. The worst I've found is the room in Millar's court when Mary Kelly's sometime room mate charged tourists to come in and see the blood stains, which she quite deliberately left in place to cash in. It's only a few years later that the then lodger in the room in the early 90s tells a journalist that she has tried, and failed to remove the stains.

It's so sad to think they had lives and their killer was never brought to justice 😢so very sad. We just see photos of their deceased bodies and forget they had lives to live and they all came to such horrific ends. 😢
