I ordered one immediately after the release. I thought it was going to be an upgraded version of the K.O. II, with more sample memory. I didn't realize that the samples were permanent, and it only has half of the user sample memory, that the KO II has. After watching multiple videos, I decided to send it back to Perfect Circuit. I never even opened it. I'm not big on medieval instruments, so it's not for me. I do like some of the drums and percs, but I have plenty of drums and percs already. I would like to see them make a version, that's based on vintage samplers. Either an 8 bit or 12 bit sampler, that has the 80's or early 90's converter coloring. I'm not interested in an extremely niche rompler/sampler. I know the KO II is essentially leaning towards the 90's 16 bit MPC's, but I would like a version that leans towards the S612, SP 12/1200, Mirage DSK, EPS, Emulator, MPC 60. Or a Casio SK-1 version, but with way more sampling time, along with all of the bells and whistles, that came with the KO II.

As usual, TE have introduced another product that I don’t particularly need or want. _But_ , I have to say, I love their GFI attitude, introducing silly s*** like this into the market. (Latin labels on the controls?! 🤣) Because there’s clearly a market for it but it takes some noodle to go after it! That said, and more seriously, I agree with the other commenters that TE would do well to fix their existing products rather than re-package and re-release stuff that is already known to be futzy. When people are already complaining about your price/quality ratio, that’s a good way to disappoint your fans.

Teenage Engineering puts restrictive unilateral terms on their products because they fear social media creators revealing that they make overpriced image focused garbage then supporting it with evidence. Otherwise, they'd kill for Florian to give them the buzz his videos can create. They'd rather their slick advertising and false image convince musical hopefuls to spend more than they can afford. I wish them the best of luck. The ill will this move will create amongst a rather small community will teach them regret. They'll still exist though because people like being able to buy themselves into a feeling of superiority despite reality.

I agree it is super gimmicky...and TE's hardware support hasn't been the best with past devices. But this has an unused chip that will definitely get firmware updates. And also has the ability to being hacked eventually. This will undoubtedly be a collectors item (12:12). Give it 5 years this thing will be $2k+ on eBay. There's simply nothing else like it and it is the first of it's kind. I don't think most people are buying this for professional live and heavy workflow...there's simply better and cheaper options out there. Most will be buying this for the aesthetics and novelty. However $300 is a tad much for me.
