Jack Welch, former CEO & Chairman, General Electric
1. “You’ll always be as good as the team you get”
2. “Culture counts - you can do a thousand spreadsheets on acquisitions, but if you don’t get the culture right, the numbers might look good, but the deal is gonna fall on its face”
3. “Get the hell out of the office - get out and touch people - listen, listen, and listen - love them to death and give purpose to their lives”
At the annual Presidents Summit, former CEO & Chairman of GE, Jack Welch, shares his most important lessons from a life in business. In less than 13 minutes, Mr. Welch covers everything from the importance of human resources and culture to execution and his “fix, sell, or close” strategy.

Jack’s nasties where pretty bad…cutting 10% of his workforce no matter (draconian certainly) what and weakening labor while only thinking about shareholder value. He had no love affair with the hourly employee

While working this Welch was required reading. I learned nothing. Billionaires playing money games. GE got into the buying and selling companies and managing others money. America doesn't make or produce anything anymore and Jack Welch is one of the reasons why. America sold itself out and Welch was the auctioneer! In my opinion Welch was a terrible influence on the America economy!

Too much promotion of this dude. The guy that transformed GE from a manufacturing enterprise to a financial conglomerate. After he left, the company crumbled, even today GE market value has been destroyed.. did you know that he died without knowing his kids?… the video is out there in KZbin.

Hilarious. This Bilbo Baggins tappin' the hot media chicks drawn to his money, one of whom is now his widow. And the kicker is that the ex-Bimbo widow is using his image and likeness to sell books, seminars, videos, etc. As a dead man, he has become a widget to sell for price points from $9.99 to $99,999.99. Capitalism is fascinating.

This person’s ideas of burning the furniture to heat the house works for a time. Suddenly the house is empty. Note his stated ideas on loyalty. I pay you 8 to 5 at 5 we are even. This was stated from his lips at a GE management training program. He do not look at the 400 at a boys versus 1 oh you dummy. He globalized hiring and never looked at the results out of his hires. Once they got their green cards the next day they left. He was too arrogant to listen to anyone. He has partitioned the Corp. like the military like the officers and the enlisted. An idiot could see where this company was headed, and here we are. The mark of a good manager is a picker of good men. His reign of terror was like Truman verses MacArthur. Welch was as stupid as Truman. He could not pick people who questioned his notions he fired them. His books should be burned on the stupid ideas fires. He destroyed GE - RCA - Honeywell and many more.
