That's an example of why I tend to prefer the US version. The US presenters unselfconsciously ramble but the Brits, despite drinking enough alcohol to render me comatose, still feel a need to maintain control and be clever. Pretty sure there’s little historical basis for Queen Elizabeth being in love with Raleigh, although it’s a popular depiction. Raleigh’s relationship with Elizabeth Throckmorton was actually very romantic: they were married in secret, which was the real transgression against the queen, who imprisoned them in the Tower of London for a number of years. In trying so hard to make this funny and dramatic they made it ahistorical, even though the truth is equally interesting
