holy shit you literally took the words out of my mouth. jack wilshere is the prototypical old arsenal style center mid, at 21 years old. he has the vision, composure, and decision making of someone who has played in the PL for 10+ years. but in addition to those mental assets, he has the physical tenacity and dribbling/passing skills of the best in England. to have all of that at 21, its frightening. Jack Wilshere is the best youngster in the world, and england cannot afford to bench him.

Cleverley to keep the team ticking and Wilshere to go Forward with his runs, create space for that deadly final ball or get a shot off. and you say 2 goals 3 assists but a lot of the moves that have lead to goals and assists have been started by jack...he has the most pre-assists in the team...and during his best performances he never scores a goal, never makes an assist but he gets stuck in better than most midfielders he takes the game to the opposition and begins the pressure that leads to goals same way that Dennis Bergkamp was an average goalscorer compared to the others but is a legend for being an architect of space

As an arsenal fan i really please with Wilshere. Hebrings something new to the England team that we havnt really seen before. He is the link between the midfield and the strikers. As a team england played well - ive havnt seen England pass the ball like that for a while. We looked good in possesion for a change. In all a good TEAM performance!

I will tell you exactly why wilshere is a future legend. not his ability to go past people, not his ability to play an accurate pass, not his match awareness, none of that! it's his character. playing against barca winning MOTM, scoring the vital goal in a tense game against swansea, coming back from injury and regularly being the best player not only in the team but on the pitch, his ability to lift an entire team just by his commitment. since wilshere came back, everyone plays better. u'll see

ARSENAL FAN HERE. here's my opinion on jack...he's a great player, well capable of being an arsenal and England legend provided he stays fit for the most part. but let's not get ahead of ourselves, he's 21, his career is far from complete...he's accomplished a lot as an individual so far still has a lot more to accomplish. he's a different player from scholes. both have an ability to change a game. wilshere drives at opposition, scholes picks them apart. they compliment but dnt rival each other.

Are you joking? Kroos is 2 years older and a magnificent talent himself and surrounded by truly world class players. Surely it is a testament to Jack's talent that he was trying to do it himself. He was the only Arsenal player who showed enough fight to be worthy of the tag "world class". Fabregas over the last 5 years has created the most goalscoring chances in European football. Mark my words, Wilshere will be better and Cesc will be the first man to admit it.

Most of the critics about Jack here come from guys that think football is just score goals and make assists, and it´s not, football is about tactics, defend (Wilshere is always doing that), and attack, he is a very incisive player, who call the defenders for himself, this way, he can pass to another player, who is usually free, thanks to him, That is football, he plays with his team, actually, everybody is thinking that the sport is just goals and don't see talent in Wilshere, but they are wrong

the fact that Jack is English does make him slightly overrated because everybody wants England's hopes to be bright, but I doubt you'll ever see someone like Oscar run the show in a victory over Barcelona. Oscar plays second fiddle to Hazard and Mata. A 19 year old Jack outplayed everybody on the pitch that night. Players including Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Nasri, Fabregas and Song. Come back when Oscar can do that. To reiterate, Wilshere was 19 at the time. NINETEEN

Yes I understand skills can serve a purpose and Zidane uses them brilliantly but they aren't necessary to be a great player (as you suggest) and Jack Wilshere does fine without them. You might not like him because you don't find it as exiting but you have to accept that using his ball control is still very impressive.

We played awful when we had that team, we were strugglin for wins and could barely create any chances, not even against the worst team in the league(QPR). Arteta - Ramsey is not a good enough midfield if we want to compete against City, United and Chelsea. Remember when we met Bayern? Who was the player they feared? Was it Cazorla, Ramsey, Walcott or Arteta? No it was Wilshere. Why? Because he played really good the whole winter and carried us.

I think you're an example on why people don't take Americans seriously. Have you seen Podolski play this season? He has been good. That's it. The last couple of months he hasn't been up to scratch, and its players like Wilshere and Cazorla (who in my eyes is a WC player, much more so than Podolski) who have pulled Arsenal through most of their games.
