Hi Jack, subscriber with cerebral palsy here. It's essentially a brain injury that can occur anywhere in the brain, and how bad the injury is and where it occurs in the brain is directly correlated to what it impacts. For me, I have all my cognitive abilities intact, but I cannot walk. This is due to a lack of balance for me personally I have the muscle and I can walk with assistive devices, but as soon as I let go of something I would fall right to the ground lol 😅 cerebral palsy is a massively different experience for everyone because of the different areas of the brain that can be affected. I've seen it impact as little as one arm being tight as in the ligaments and such and therefore pulled in toward the body all the way to a person not being able to speak, feed themselves, or anything. I'm not making fun because it's only by sheer luck that I'm not in a similar position. As it stands I was told when I was little that I would never walk and I recently went back to the same doctors that told me that when I was younger and they say now that there's no way I won't walk it's just a matter of when. But it's taken numerous surgeries, working out, etc. If you'd met me you wouldn't even be able to tell I was in a wheelchair unless I was sitting in it, of course. Been thinking of starting a booktube channel myself because there doesn't seem to be a lot of representation, but it is a little bit nerve-wracking because I don't love being on video. Love your content, though. Blessings to everyone! 🙏🏻💜

The amazing thing to me about 18 miles of books is how many writers that took. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but can’t imagine writing an entire book. It blows my mind a little thinking about all of the people and all of the lives that are spent doing that. It’s incredible. Kudos to all the writers out there!

I have wanted to go to The Strand for literally almost 10 years and finally had a chance to go before a flight out of NYC last week. Truly heaven on earth. ALSO did some research and discovered that although they still use the “18 miles of books” slogan it’s actually closer to 23 miles now, at least according to Google.

I've been to The Strand a couple of times because, before the pandemic, I used to go on long weekend trips to NYC. Just by chance, I am returning to that practice and will be doing a long weekend in NYC next week, and The Strand is on my to-do list since it's been some years since I've been there. Can't wait. Hopefully, I can stop by some other book stores as well.

Hey Jack, I do luv Chinese Checkers. I bought a CD that had games on it years ago (obviously if I am using the initials CD) that had Chinese Checkers. You play with Avatar opponents of which you can choose. You can even select the level of back talk/smack you give and get from them. And if you don't like it you can give them a pie or boxing glove in the face. It also has 2 speeds of play. It took me awhile to figure it out with no instructions or understanding of defense. Haven't played in a long time. But I would love a game with you! lol. Luv yr channel btw.
