I really enjoyed that Jack, I learned to fly in the 80's, I haven't done any in the last 20 years and probably wouldn't pass the medical now, so flying vicariously with you was great. Thank you.

Fifty years ago, a J3 Piper Cub was our thing. A bit of a broom handle and nearly a wet finger held in the air for our instruments. Incredible technology for you and amazing on such a little bird. Nice to hear your routines and sensible approach to being a better pilot.

I have to say this was my most enjoyable episode ever! As a GA VFR pilot myself, this is what I was waiting the most to see. I thought you mentioned something about doing a comparison between the Bose and David Clark headsets? Will that be in a future episode? Also, are you using an efb? In Australia the most common software is either Ozrunways or AvPlan EFB. Thanks for responding to subscribers comments and providing this video, it’s much appreciated.

Absolutely fantastic video Jack. Camera angle was good, felt like you were in the plane with you. Interesting to hear about your accident, sounds like you were lucky getting out of it. The new plane will be good for the family to cover some longer distances. Good to see the country side from the air again. Some good water around. Garmin looks good.

HA, Jack, you are in the exact position i was when i was 18 in South Africa. I wanted to fly in the Military and also choppers. After Basic Training i signed up and they put me through the 9 weeks hell and after i had passed all the theory and physical stress, they told me i cannot fly because i didn't have mathematics in my last two years of school. This was in 1975 so i guess they decided to just mess with my brain. Anyway, i went on into Infantry and beyond. cheers.

Gday Jack, awesome video this one, totally different view of the station from up there. Couple of questions… what sort of ceiling height can you fly at and what fuel does the aircraft use? Cheers Rob from Gero
@jack_out_the_back Жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, I have a ceiling limit of 10,000ft under my licence. The aircraft has one much higher. It's set for 95/98 but it can take Avgas if I need to.
@einfelder8262 Жыл бұрын
I'm not an aviator but I would put tearoffs on the perspex to prevent scratches. Something similar to motorcycle helmet tearoffs - they survive 300+ kph so should be OK on the plane. Supercars use large ones which would cover the plane's screens.
@glennbrown1961 Жыл бұрын
Congrats on the new bird. Nice and shiny, please try and keep it like that 😂. The story on your misadventure with the other plane was great Jack. Most other people would have kept that one quite. So what did you do in the service? I think Ant will like the new wings! Cheers from Tassy..

G’day Jack. Just found your channel. I’ve been seriously considering a Ventura, but when I last enquired there was no first customer in Australia. Can I ask if you built it yourself? And what your build cost ended up (please let me know if you’d rather not disclose details in comments and I can give you some contact details). Cheers

Hi Jack. Try the Lightspeed Zulu Delta headset I use them. They are way better than the Bose for noisy aircraft like light sports, great noise cancelling and also has built in co2 sensor. Also I cleared the codes on the sister aircraft of yours at YPJT due to it being in failsafe mode. Make sure you always have well charged battery, 915 likes good power. Enjoy

Oh My.. Microfibre Cloths & Perspex do not go together. Your windshield will end up looking terrible really quick. Microfibre Cloths damage the surface including normal paintwork. I see the results of it all the time (Looks just like swirl marks) If your windscreen is dirty, start by splashing it down with soapy water (Automotive wash is fine) but don't touch it with any cloth, then rinse with clean water & Dry with a clean Chamois then apply your coating (Mr Sheen is a popular choice too as it doesn't harm the surface) Always, always use lint free cotten cloth. Anyway, Nice looking Aircraft. Back to the video. Cheers.

Are your air traffic announcements just for the benefit of any other aircraft that might be in the area? There is no way air traffic control would hear that? I knew your physics skills were not great when you thought the hand rail on the grader would support the suspension a while back!
@jack_out_the_back Жыл бұрын
It's good habit, and we do get some traffic in the region. Builds up the confidence when going to areas with traffic! Haha yes that was a moment of error, fatigue is the biggest threat here!
