Nice work on Landline. Got a heap of the same gear with over 10 wireless links supporting 70+ connected devices on our dairy farm. There are other farmers like me!!!

You obviously have to be multi talented to run the station. Welder, mechanic , pump tech, electronics tech, feral pest controller, pilot, husband, father, coach, driver and conservationist. Jack of all trades, master of any? 😂😂

Dude, you are everything including an electrical engineer. Lol. May I suggest wiring up a remote pa speaker so you can yell at the camels that they are going to perish shortly? See if they understand English? Lol

Couple ideas with all of the heat you guys get on your equipment. 1. Could you add heat shielding to your equipment boxes? Some kinda the Styrofoam. 2. They make small fans that could increase the airflow in those boxes. When they get over 40C they could kick on. 3. You could try to mount the equipment box to the side of the water tank which would keep it cooler. 4. They make a aluminum foil bubble wrap you could skin the outside of the equipment boxes

Carry a set of network plug crimping pliers with you, and if you have something that's a bit intermittent try giving the plug another press with the crimping pliers; you'd be surprised how often that sorts out dodgy connections. Second, try and make sure there's a bit of spare cable in the run, so if you have to chop off a plug and reconnect, you've got the spare length.

Agree, in the bush you have to be multi skilled , cant ring up for help unless you have G5 , these skills can only be learnt from experience, you cant buy experience. That said IT skills have stopped all the old guys. Young man biz now running a station or farm.

It is completely possible that condensation can form inside the box. Best way to avoid and remove the risk is adding venting kit. Done regularly in commercial cctv/network installations.

Hi mate, just wondering if you are earthing all your frames/antenna mounts to the ground. Even an earth grid around the structure? May help with lightning protection. All our comms equipment is well earthed to actual ground to provide some protection from lightning. You may be able to buy a raydome type cover for your launchers as well for some protection from the elements.

We run a Starlink but most interested to see what is in your system. We'd like to add cameras to our system also. Question for you. How high a temp do your Starlink modems cope with? I think I recall they mentioned 50C and wondered how you found them and where you place them. Great video btw - as they all are.

@jackouttheback do you have a pre-staged emergency kit, with the pepper style survival stuff, at each water point? Obviously, no answer here in public is secure but just a thought, Water, blanket, tarp, ammo, food, signal flare whatever?

dude, I invested about 3k to build my own network in the mountains to get wifi coverage where cell network does not cover. I did that for myself when I am doing security cameras as game cams, now I accidently became an ISP for few people that live behind hills without internet other than mine. so my system is slowly paying for itself by having 7 WIFI costumers paying monthly fees to me.

I wonder if there is a way to completely abandon the poe and run separate dc power leads to all the devices. Not because poe is a bad idea, but because trying to power so many devices all at once.

Hello - I'm new to your channel. This may be a dumb question, but why do you kill camels? are they an invasive species? I cannot find on your channel the reason you need to remove them. Could you explain? Again, just an ignorant 60 year old !! Thank you!
@RedDragon0353
@RedDragon0353 10 ай бұрын
Yeah they're invasive species. They drink all the water for the cattle too so that needs to be protected

As pastoralists we are obliged under the terms of the least to remove/eradicate large feral herbivores (LFH) so this means camels,horses and donkeys
