Loving the way you rescue the PO's, you "saved" them from the house by shelling them, then promptly ran them all over lol. I guess in game logic, it must be right! It's like a building pinyada, blow it up for a bit, spits out musy (presumably candy) people who are ripe for a running down XD.

Yeah, its a bit bizarre, blowing up half the house and hope for the best! Saves some time I guess! 😁

a fast scrolling, a fast vehicle, a fast gameplay... what more? a longer... weapon? ;) (but how can we save these POWS, if they die with every loss of life? )

The POWs just run off when you lose a life and you can pick them up again when you re-spawn.

Seems weird saying it now watching the video, but in 87 Jackal is one of those that stuck. I would play it for hours despite knowing it was half arsed with the visuals and basic functionality even back then. I think the alure was probably the challenge without it being a complete farce, it wasn't an unfair one like say Jailbreak.

Sometimes you had to make do with what you had. And Jackal is more fair than Jailbreak for sure!

Not as bad as the pixel mess that made it to the Amstrad... anyway, if you want to enjoy the game go for NES version. Graphics are still 8 bit, but it has more level content and playability It's better than the arcade.
