Yeah dirty jokes WILL happen if that's the vibe of a group, but I've never had an NSFW version of a game be an improvement Like what makes a joke is usually the _punchline_ being unexpected, and that's where being unexpectedly dirty has the most effect! (Just as it would if it was "unexpectedly absurd" or whatever) When entire premise of these games is the players providing the punchline, you can't start out as "100% dirty", same as you can't really start as "100% wacky random", it really is most effective when the prompts are more low key and open and the player provides the twist!

@@AmandaBriscoe in every "round" each player is given a prompt to draw on their phone. once the drawings are finished (there's a time limit) everyone sees everyone else's drawing, one by one, without the prompt, on their phone. each player pitches a prompt for each of the drawings they didn't do. once all the prompts are finished, everyone looks at the TV, where it shows the drawings one by one. each drawing is paired with all the prompts given for it, including the real prompt it was based on. each player then tries to guess which prompt was the real one. players get points whenever someone else puts a guess in for their prompt. so the artist gets more points if their drawing is good, while other players can sort of "steal" points by writing a more convincing prompt. hopefully that makes sense lol edit; that's how the second game, Drawful, works. the first one is much simpler; everyone is given the same open-ended prompt, with a time limit to answer in, then are given some extra time to defend their answer. from there, it's just voting for the best/funniest answer.

I really liked Gartic phone but I struggle when they do Jackbox games. I think some other people have said it in the comments but Jackbox is a "forced funny" it gives you specific prompts so average folks can find themselves hilarious/fancy themselves a comedian. It's more of a lunch bag let down watching professional actors/comedians do this sort of thing. I like seeing what they pull from nothing, playing average games like UNO and poker adding extra flavour to them or taking inherently unfunny things like Resident evil/GTA/Mario Party and Kart and making them hilarious. Even when it completely devolves like the livestream staring contest. I cried laughing so hard at parts of it. I watched the vid to support the channel cause I love Smosh Games but it was pretty meh.
