Man you would like my elco. Very similar to this car.Mines a currie 9” w/ 3:25 gear 383 700r4 ac power steering,power everything. Bumpers cut and tucked drip rails shaved, 2” drop 18” torque thrust d polished aluminum . Hotchkis bars front and rear. And true dual 3” with x pipe series 40 flows

Probably a good call not doing heads. Valve shrouding gets to be an issue on the 305s with anything bigger than a 1.94, which really limits to it head options and then would be a choke point on the 350. I’m not sure if these stock heads have the same issue, but on the TPI and TBI 305 heads the rockers studs will pull out with even a mild cam. Pulling the heads for screw in studs and getting them decked might pick up a good bit of power without costing too much. I may have an intake that will work but hood clearance could be an issue.

Man I got a 1986 F-150 with the 302 EFI, looking to get into this range 0-60, I got a 3.55 open diff. It only weighs 3800-900 lbs but I don’t know where to start being that it’s a speed density computer. If I were to do like a 3.93 posi setup, throttle body, intake plenum, shorty header-back exhaust, and a MSD dizzy could I get into this range? Any help is welcome I just wanna get some insight from somewhere other than a forum with a bunch of old people telling me I should just leave it as is.

@@JackCecil I’d probably have to swap over lower intake mani. to run the mustang plenum and throttle body. Which wouldn’t be a super big issue I just know they kinda tuned those plenums for the low end torque that these engines excel in. But like you said in the video I’ll start from the back and cross that bridge when it’s time.

@@JackCecil good advice on the back to the front, can’t lie I didn’t really think about the rear end as a means to put more stock power down, I always thought about it as get more power first then you swap rear end to manage the extra power. I mean a 4.11 ratio coming from any stock ratio will grill the tires but I always thought of it as, if you aren’t running the power for a posi don’t bother with it.

@@gabebarnett3529 a good example of this is a buddy of mine had a 90 s10 that he swapped a 355 lt1 with lt4 hot cam in it. 700r4 trans and stock 3.42 open diff. Truck ran 15.2-14.9. I convinced him to swap a posi unit in with a set of 4.10 gears and all of a sudden the truck was running BOTTOM 13s. 13.0-13.2.
