It's a passive skill that will be available in the actual game. That's confirmed information.

DD2 taking place in a parallel universe just reinforces the plot of the first one and adds to its lore even further,something i hope they flesh out in the sequel since a lot of newcomers have no idea what the game even is about.

Yes! There are so many unanswered questions in the first one. Like, what are pawns exactly? what and where is the rift? If there are more failed arisens (like the duke, barroch, and the dragonforged) than successful ones, why aren't there more of them in the world? Also, being a failed arisen seems like a pretty sweet deal if you don't mind being essentially immortal.

The cycle was stated to be "ENDLESS" Which implies it's also NOT the first time it could have been "Broken" as nature abhorrs a vacuum. So if this is true and the True Ending is Canon = We don't actually NEED a parallel universe plot (or a guy that gets his heart ripped out and THEN gets a bump on the noggin just to make everything doubly dense to start out...) it just needs to be stated to be like Ragnarok. [The end of one cycle, and the automatic beginning of a new one] Multiverse stuff is either a sign of bad writing from the start, or has to be handled VERY carefully... and I'm not sure based on the story arc in DD1 that will be the case with this one.

I don’t know if I should start as an Elven Arisen and Pawn, a Human Arisen and Pawn or a Beastren Arisen and Pawn, either both males, both female or male and female. And the classes, should I be a thief, an archer, a mage or a fighter? What Hybrid Class should I be, Trickster, Mystic Archer, Warfarer, Mystic Spearhand?

Play as your favorites, you will have more fun! As for vocations you will most likely want to level up most, if not all, over the course of the game to unlock augments (perks) from each vocation.

As for your looks,youll most likely be able to modify later in the game just like in the first game and as for the vocations,theres no restriction on which ones you can play as (as long as you have access to them) and in fact,DD encourages the player to switch and max out all vocations constantly during your playthrough.

There's only one downside to gender that may be in 2 like it was in the first. That females excite and are targeted by ogres in fights. They literally will focus on killing the women first, when you encounter one with a pawn that knows about ogres they'll comment "the sight of women excites them" 👀 but either way they'll still fight whomever they run across. There were also a couple factions that didn't take kindly to a male character or pawn either so we'll just have to wait and see. But they are right there aren't any benefits to gender or race other than worldly interactions and comments.
