G'day Buck Can you do a real life test. Situation; Power goes out overnight when your asleep or cyclone hits. You run around like a chook with its head cut off trying to stop the house blowing away or rain coming in or making sure everyone is safe. Now you say oh shit I need to get the fridge going, so the fridge has been off for say 6 to 8 hours. Now connect battery power supply An hour or two later you want a cold drink , open fridge get drink. Some time later get food out to cook a meal . Then you sit down after all the running around and say thank f## k where all good lets have a cold one. How does the battery last after that I would be interest in that test. Great show Darryl Power

I have a Bluetti AC180 & it has run my Samsung 460 fridge/freezer for 13 hours the first time I tried & 15 hours on the second test.Will charge up on the A/C from 0% to 100% in about 1hr 15 mins.😃

That's impressive !!! they probably work on open and closing the fridge for a family of four. Where as your a family of 2 and would be careful if powers off not to open the fridge too often. That might be a good test run idea. I would set the jackery up for when your doing trips away if the power goes off the jackery takes over and when the power returns it charges the jackery you would never loose food then.

Great clip, buck good to see the jackery doing better than you expected I reckon my jackery 1000 pro would run a fridge for 12 hours as well cheers mate thanks for sharing
@Mrbuckaroonie..8 ай бұрын
Yeah I reckon 12 hours would max it out. Be worth an experiement I guess.

That’s a pretty good effort Buck with a solar panel or 3 you’ll run that fridge indefinitely for Free 👍

❤ just watched to the end. Exactly how I used mine running my pellet stove (heat) at night & just fire up my generator during the day.

if it works like that all the time great . An interesting comparison would be to have fridge and freezer empty and part full and open the doors for 30 seconds 10 times in 24 hrs . An electrician said they get to temperature again quicker if more in it and upright freezers are better than front opening . like these tests on things

Yeah mate once I get the switch in the power board, more testing will follow. I am interested to see what this thing can do.
@Philipk658 ай бұрын
Should have let it run over night, just to see if it will do the full 24. Though 12 hours is impressive with only a 50% use. Easily run a fan and low wattage light too over night I reckon. Could hook it up to the solar panels during the day to reduce the load on the it.

Yes mate if sun is out, I can put 300w into it from my 2x solar panels.

It will be interesting to see how long it will last once you get your point in running the home with real use of it all opening it & fans on lights going . It seems good so far Buck.
@Mrbuckaroonie..8 ай бұрын
Yeah mate I am no illusions that it will run everything. If I can get overnight with a fridge, a couple of ceiling fans and a light here and there, I will be happy.

Without power, we are pretty bloody stuffed eh Buck. 3 months ago i installed a moderately large solar pv system with battery (8.7kw with 9.7kwh battery) it sounds great but even 9.7kwh doesn't last long powering and entire house. In a grid down it should last 24 hours

What a little ripper 👍👍I was just wondering if you can hook an external battery up to it ? And will it through charge,as in take generator power and still run things at the same time ? I’ve been looking at the bluetti AC200L which will do everything I want it to do, I’m just having trouble justifying the entry price 🥲 it’s an awful lot of powered sites before it makes any sense. I keep telling myself that it would enable us to do a lot more free camping in adverse weather conditions BUT STILL 😂😂😂. The bride reckons it’s because I’m a cheap bustard, she’s probably right. The rainy season hasn’t let up yet, the joys of living in the tropics 👍👍❤️🙏🇦🇺

Brand new user with dumb question and zero solar experience. I just got a Jackery for future power outages - came with one solar panel. I guess I would have to unplug Jackery to frig several hours a day to charge outside hooked to solar panel? Thanks for any help.
@Mrbuckaroonie..7 ай бұрын
The 100w solar panel simply will not put enough charge back in. You need a lot of solar to keep up with a house fridge. For the price of 2 solar panels, you can get a little 200 or 2500 w gen set. Charge the jackery up in the morning and late afternoon for an hour. I will use mine in conjunction with a little gen set. You can use the gen set a couple of short times during the day and the jackery runs fridge overnight. They work hand in hand with each other. Out camping with a 12v camping fridge the solar panels do the job but for home you need a lot of solar power and by the time you buy enough solar, it's cheaper to buy a gen set.

Surprised you don't have solar mate, or is there a reason? Just a question
@Mrbuckaroonie..8 ай бұрын
Yes I have solar but not the battery to go with it. When the power is off, it's off.

1 minute in & I can tell you it will run the fridge for multiple days. ❤

If you have three kids in & out of the fridge, that will drastically reduce the battery life, or a piss head like myself grabbing a beer every 15 minutes
@Mambey8 ай бұрын
You will be in and out of the food fridge a bit more.
@ozquark83848 ай бұрын
You might even do better running it overnight, rather than through the heat of the day.
