Jupiter 10" Speaker Shootout! M10c vs 10LC vs 10LA

The Jupiter 12LC/10LCs have been my favourite "American" voiced speakers for nearly ten years now. All my Fenderish amps have either them, or JBL D120Fs in them. When the Midnight series came out, I doubted that there would be much difference soundwise. Your videos prove me wrong, they sound even better. More balanced, with mild yet more present highs. I will definitely try them out soon.

I am hard of hearing with hearing aids... I "think" this is the first time I heard a direct comparison between ceramic and AlNiCo and......, could hear a difference between each of them. I've been learning a lot from Jack Fosset's videos and have been coming to a recurring conclusion.... "The whole is the some of it's parts": AlNiCo vs Ceramic vs Neodymium Power Amp 6V6 vs 6L6 vs EL84 vs EL34 vs KT66 vs KT88 Preamp 12AX7 12AU7 12AT7 12AY7 ECC Etc.. Rectifier 5U4 5AR4 Etc Transformers Tone Stack They all play a part in the tone the amp provides. What I think Jack brings to the table is talented real world experience test driving all widgets and gadgets with consistency and sharing his findings with us. Playing the same riff patterns for each speaker is conducive to simplifying comparing tasks That was a big plus for me. Some channels like to shred on one thing and then articulate on another with different guitars and amps and you are left wondering what happened to 10 mins of your life gone forever. Forget it. It's not coming back. I like Jack's way of doing it. I keep coming back. 👍🙂👍

Great video as always. I really think I liked the M 10 best with single coils. With the humbuckers I'm not so sure. Humbuckers clean I think I'd say the 10 LC. Overdriven? Harder to say for certain.

Im wondering which one to choose for Princeton Reverb Blackface? M10C vs. M10CP? what would you suggest? Which one would be the most similiar to jensen C10N?

I have a 12LC mounted on a Supersonic 60wat and I like it as much as it sounds, now that I just bought a Deluxe Reverb 65, I had thought about changing the Jessen C12K for an M12C, but I had no references for it, how do you see it? ? Would the improvement be significant? thank you

Jack, I've looked, but can't find any links to the speakers. I do see lots of other links. And maybe I'm just not reading correctly what the links are about. I brought out my headphones on this, but I was expecting to hear no difference between the speakers because that's what usually happens for this kind of thing. However, I did hear clear differences between them and my observations seem similar to yours. The 10LA is my favorite across the board. With your Supro, I prefer the sound of the 10LC because I'm hearing increased clarity compared to the M10C. I get your point though, and yes I can see how the M10C might sound better with a less bass-heavy amp. Thanks for the well-done comparison!
