That Marker on the Tree designates a path through the map. Red, Green, Blue and Yellow. If you chk the map they can be used to nav around much more easily. They are usually marked on paths every 100 yards or so.

the thing telling you roughly where you are on the map is new. youd be suprised how few people understand how to read a map and follow compass directions. this feature has made it way easier.

First video tutorial I found when I got into the game a couple weeks ago was on how to trangulate yourself on the map. On the one hand, incredibly useful and very easy to do. On the other hand, when you're in a squad full of people who know the map like the spent their childhood running around that island, you don't get much time to actually use it.

I'm personally more of a fan of Squad, but overall I'm happy more mil-sim/mil-sim lite FPS games are becoming more common, especially for console players.

Squad still needs some work and hopefully the UE5 game engine change will go smoothly.(the only thing keeping Squad from beating Arma reforger for me is the engine and some of the design decisions(I personally despise how character movement feels in squad and very much love how movement feels in reforger)

@@command_unit7792 The engine is solid for the most part. UE4 is a great engine so IDK what you are talking about. But maybe the issue you are actually referring to is the optimization, but that is because of their terrible coding. So maybe coding is what you mean to say. But in regards to optimization, UE5 is actually even more worrying because so far UE5 games have a record of poor optimization. Sure, Squad will benefit in many ways from their transition to UE5 in terms of immersion, vehicle handling, and all sorts of other cool additions, but it is a bit worrying.

Whats good with day z? Personally im the opposite, i was more into milsim and tactical gaming but games are just too damn long and sometimes gets boring so i made a switch to more fast paced games i.e CS and battlefield. Personally its due to time, i have work and i have different hobbies. Might as well play mobile games😅 personally CS is my favorite because it combines tactical play but its not as long.

It's not the most advanced graphics, but it's very natural looking lighting, but most importantly clean and clear, which is important in a game where you often are fighting people 300+ meters away using your ironsights.

To all beginners. 0. If you are new, learn the game, dont use supply points to kit up too much 1. Watch a video about conflict 2. Learn how to navigate (in the start navigate by road) always have a rough hum about where you are (use landmarks to pinpoint roughly where you are). 3. Use vehicles for transport (always keep a jeep close) 4. Stick with your team 5. Try to find likely conflict zones (if you want action).

Just wait until you get into the modded servers…. ”Rogue Extract” is a ‘Tarkov-esque’ infil, loot, extract server, “KOTH” are basically meat grinders, “Wasteland” is an amazing Rust-like 3-way PvPvPvE with looting, missions, gun stores and base building, and the amazing “WCS” servers have already basically turned the game into Arma 4 - with insane amounts of modern combat from night vision, lights and lasers, all kinds of modern gear to play Barbie with, and little bird and Apache helicopters to a K17 “Boomerang” APC.

In a recent video Operator Drewski mentioned that when you use the in game voip people, I think it was, within 30 Meters see an icon with your name, essentially alerting them to your presence without actually needing to hear you. Oh and Happy New Year :)
