Jackfruit tree pruning during fruit set | boundary clearing

G'day folks! Despite the unseasonal rainfall we've had lately, we managed to make a good start on Jackfruit pruning. Also did some boundary clearing, and of course chipped all the prunings to make mulch for our trees which should help to see them through the upcoming forcasted El Nino.

We plant 4.5 metres apart (rows and trees) because we keep our trees pruned and short with living in a cyclone prone area.

We have rainwater tanks as backup if things get desperate, but we don't water very much at all. The fact that jackfruit trees have a deep tap root and the mulch we put on the trees they are quite tolerant of dry periods.

If nothing else, those trees look like a great shelterbelt. I'd be too paranoid about snakes and spiders to go in there lol

They are a great windbreak, just have to be careful they don't keep creeping into our paddock area as they reseed. Snakes are definitely a concern, but thankfully the only creatures we encountered were green ants and a massive hairy catipiller!
