You have to watch Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. Basically the same movie if Jackie Chan hooked up with Owen Wilson in the wild west, instead of a cop in L.A. In the first one Jackie Chan is an Imperial Guard who travels to cowboy America to rescue a kidnapped Chinese Princess. It's great but the second one is better, Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson go to England to recover the Imperial Seal that got stolen by a British lord.

4:27 Chris was actually speaking Cantonese with an American English accent, "Listen up, I want you all to go home and sleep... right now!" But of course, to make it funny, they had Jackie translate it differently with the samurai swords. 23:46 That is not broken nor American Cantonese. It's not even Cantonese or any Chinese language. It's just gibberish. 223:01 Don Cheadle speaks Cantonese well here and is one of my favorite scenes in this movie.

Rush Hour 2 is probably the best of the trilogy in terms of action, as they really stepped up the fight scenes and set-pieces. Overall though, I still think the first one is the best movie in the series, as the comedy, action, and story all feel tighter as a whole. The comedy in the first one definitely feels more fast-paced, as the one-liners come a mile-a-minute. I always felt the comedy seemed so much more forced in the sequels; the one-liners don’t seem as fresh, and kinda rely on “the obvious joke” for lack of a better expression. 2 & 3 are still fun for me (2 has my favorite action scenes), but overall #1 is the best overall package.

Rush Hour 1 had the best story. While 2's story was all over the place, but that didn't matter cuz chemistry between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker was amazing and makes up for it, but would've been a perfect movie if the story was better.

I like Shanghai noon and Shanghai knights with Jackie chan and Owen Wilson. A bit of a similar dynamic between the two characters as carter and Lee. Also, speaking on Jackie’s age in this movie and the fact he still moves well. He did a film called the foreigner in 2017 at the age of 63 and he still kills it. It’s a lot more of a serious role for Jackie than he usually does too and he plays the part incredibly well. I definitely recommend checking these out.

I think Carter annoys you so you think he is useless, but he is far from it. He makes mistakes, but he fights and shoots and takes out enemies his own way. He and Lee become great friends, maybe even like brothers. Also Lee could definitely have found a way up that truck, remember him scaling the wall in the first one. I think he just figured it would be easier to take another approach, Carter should have helped him lol. I think you take this movie too serious, Carter is this way for humor. I never found it annoying just funny. I think my first Jackie Chan movie was Rumble in the Bronx, such a good movie, and Mr. Nice Guy.

I don' know why the subtitles stated that Zhang Ziyi's character spoke Cantonese when she was speaking Mandarin, but the phonetics are completely different. But yes this film was fun. Jackie Chan always stated he never understood what these movies were about, but despite that they have been amongst his most successful movies released in the west

Don Cheadle is a Oscar winner for Hotel Rwanda, and was great as a murderous thug in Our Of Sight, which had lots of stars in its cast.

Worked a movie theater at the time this came out. The movie company knew they had gold in this and negotiated for better rates from the theater companies. Don't know if it was publicized but the theater companies were threatening to not show the film. The theater companies blinked and gave them whatever they wanted.
