Yeah, Jackie definitely knew his stunt work. Like the bit where he said the guy who took the fall in the first video would be OK, because it's true; if you're trained in stuntwork, you know how to break falls and roll in ways that minimize the injuries to your body. But that last video, where the guy slammed into the fence and it looks like all the force landed squarely on his hips or lower back, that leaves you with no way to diffuse the impact and I wouldn't be surprised if that guy suffered a spinal fracture or another kind of permanent back injury from it. >.

@Falconfest -- Ever wonder why though? If you were a rich popular Chinese person with children, a wife and a huge fortune...that's all a sword over your head. He's probably been told to do and say certain things in order to keep his family, wealth, and his own reputation safe. I have a strong feeling that the China government keeps their celebrities on a tighter leash than what people would think. Also, while I could never prove it... I know that Jackie Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong, and most Hong Kong citizens, didn't really want communist China ruling over them... I kind of think Jackie Chan feels more loyalty to Hong Kong than he does for a government he probably thinks of as more 'foreign' and restrictive than the British one he grew up knowing. Again, he grew up in a Hong Kong that under Brit rule everyone had a lot more personal freedom than what communist China rules allows.

Jackie Chan is as down to earth as anyone. I remember when I heard he was in San Francisco's Chinatown, I headed down there as soon as I can just catch a glimpse of him. I was on a bus and noticed a huge crowd. The bus stopped and I was about to get off but before I could, Jackie gets on the bus. He starts shaking everyone's hands. The majority of people on that bus were Chinese, so Jackie was speaking Cantonese to them. I was around 14 years old then. This was around the time of Police Story and Project A era. He walked by and rubbed my head like I was a little kid and asked if I was doing good (in Cantonese). It was awesome. I was already a huge Jackie Chan fan and became an even bigger one after that.

The first first one, after what he said, I was like "Oh yeah, if it's a single, he over-rotated and he'll be on his face," meanwhile the audience is acting like it's American's Funniest Home Videos. Also, Jackie's right: studios want people who are there to work and it's a very competitive business and they don't have time to bust out a fainting couch for you.

@@RealLaone His work on the foreigner was actually still borderline hardcore, not as hard but hardcore along Jackie Chan standards. He toned down the stunts already since he usually does continuous filming since that makes every stunt look way cooler since there's no breaks just one shot. So if you noticed his other movies he does it all in one take with like alot of stunts in it while others usually chops them up to make the stunts look good. Pretty sure he has some level of pain but his pain tolerance is so high he just shrugs it off like nothing. He is indeed lucky though he didnt sustain any permanent pain, or perhaps he does but it's not so bad since he can still do stunts for his age.
