Jacqueline Marie Evancho is an American singer who gained wide recognition at an early age, singing primarily classical crossover covers. Since 2009, she has issued a platinum-selling EP and nine albums, including three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts. She has also presented three solo PBS concert specials.

"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the United States. The lyrics come from the "Defence of Fort M'Henry", a poem written on September 14, 1814, by 35-year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in Outer Baltimore Harbor in the Patapsco River during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the large U.S. flag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort during the U.S. victory.

Thanks layman for the trip back in history, I actually watched that live, on TV, when Jackie sang that live at 17 years old and having sat out in he cold for an hour before singing it, She did not lip synch to a recording as others have done, Notice Obama had a big smile and old grumpy face donnie, could not even acknowledge her. and yes Jackie took a lot of flack for agreeing to sing there and other things going on in her young life took a mental toll on her, plus her car wreck where she broke her back caused her to take time off and she was a different person when she came back. I followed her for quite a while til she took time off and in the meantime I discovered Lucy, and the rest is history !!! Thanks for the history !!!

She was 16, not 17. The history is that you quit on Jackie to start promoting Lucy on any video you can find about Jackie. Why else are you here but to get attention for Lucy? What's different about Jackie is that when she emerged from her absence, she recorded a tribute album of Joni Mitchell's music, "Carousel of Time" which hit #1 on the Folk Albums chart, adding to her list of 8 chart -topping albums. More significant, she also began writing, composing and producing her own music. Her new album of original songs, "Solla" was released May 3rd which hit #8 on Billboard New Releases in Pop. Prior to that, she released videos of 2 of her songs, "Behind My Eyes" about her temporary struggle with mental illness which has been playing on Adult Contemporary Radio around the country, and "Get Out of My Life", a protest against those in the industry who's demands upon her as a child star were responsible in part for her developing an eating disorder and associated mental issues trying to live up to unreasonable expectations of perfection. The flack she received for accepting the invitation to perform the national anthem had nothing to do with it. She has no regrets about the event because, as a patriot, she was paying tribute to her country (not the man) and is now acknowledge the youngest artist in history to have sung the national anthem at a presidential inauguration. If you hadn't abandoned Jackie, you might have gotten the facts straight. By the way, what you watched of the inauguration performance was the audio-distorted ABC broadcast fed by CNN being shown on this video. The undistorted authentic video is on Jackie's channel, and shows a close-up of Trump saying at the end "Great job Jackie".

@@cl9786 I watched this because I followed her for years, my favorite version of DANNY BOY she sang accompanied by the trumpet. but yes Jackie was the victim of the dirty music industry and it took a terrible toll on her and Like I said she disappeared and was gone and I have only found a couple of songs by her and yes she has changed. And I watched the live feed when she sang the national anthem.........and she was born in 2000 easy to keep track of her age !!! !

@@wilburfinnigan2142 Danny Boy was 14 years ago. You watched the audio distorted CNN feed to ABC that makes her sound faltering, weak and off key. And, of course it would not show Trump in it's broadcast. That's what is being shown on this video. And, what does her disappearance have to do with why you quit following her? She returned 3 years ago after being hospitalized for a year with anorexia and a broken back. Her true fans stuck with her during her during her absence.....NOT YOU. In fact her followers have increased by thousands. Since then, she has released 2 more albums and continued to perform in concert around the country, plus posting numerous Instagram videos and giving numerous interviews and guest appearances on TV.......furthermore, regularly keeping her fans updated on social media. Apparently you've missed all that. How has she changed, except for writing and releasing her own music? She just gave a concert last night from NYC on Live Stream telling her story musically, opening with O Mio Babbino Caro.....Phantom of the Opera medley, Music of the Night, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Ave Maria, Somewhere, Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend from her appearance on The Masked Singer, How Great Thou Art, many other classical songs from her albums and appearances in the past, plus 2 of her original songs, finishing with The Impossible Dream. She has performed her classical repertoire in all her concerts with the same pure and beautiful voice....."changed" is BS. It doesn't matter that you are now a Lucy fan. That's your prerogative. What matters is that you continually promote her on Jackie's videos, trashing Jackie with erroneous comments making ignorant and unfavorable comparisons attempting to make Jackie appear an inferior artist. Disgusting, disrespectful behavior and uncalled for.

@@cl9786 Heyb Dum Dum I know how long ago it was and how long I followed her until she disappeared, You cannot follow anyone if they are not visible. DUUUUHHH!!!!! And I am not knocking her just reported the facts and what happened to her and why, and in the meantime of her disappearance I found others to watch and follow, people that are Great and are visible. The take on all of this is the entertainment business, and it is a huge business is a dirty business, they exploit people especially young people and use them for gain at the entertainer expense, and we see that with Jackie,

I didn't abandon her, nor have thousands who are not fickle as you are. Your phony excuses don't justify disparaging Jackie on her videos.
