At only 10 years old *Jackie Evancho* had already performed live in front of huge crowds like the 12,000 in attendance at The Smith Center in Las Vegas. Then at this same age of 12, as in this video, *Jackie Evancho* sang live in front of 100,000 people in St Petersburgh, Russia. Of course her biggest crowd was the 1 Million in attendance at the 2017 Presidential Inauguration when Jackie was only 16. That performance had an estimated 500,000,000 worldwide television viewing audience.

At 3:05 Jackie demonstrates her natural ability to hit a high note effortlessly, with no visible evidence of strain and immediately executes the following phrase with delicacy. Astonishing! That indicates that her range exceeds what this song requires. Every video I've seen of child pop singers shows their faces distorted with the effort to belt out a high note. This performance by contrast is vocal artistry, control with finesse.

Not really popular music. She is writing, composing and producing her own music in the Alternative Pop/Rock genre. She grew up listening to music of the 80s with her dad, and has a strong affinity for that kind of music......."It's the way I write", she says, and it suits the theme of her music. Her EP of 6 original songs was released May 3, 2024. Actually, the majority of music Jackie has sung has been popular music of one kind or another. Although it was the movie Phantom of the Opera that inspired her to start singing at about age 7. Music of the Night is her favorite song from the movie.

I've had the pleasure of seeing Jackie perform in Boston 3 years ago and just recently in Beverly and her voice and stage presence is so wonderful. I was 7 years old when I watched you preform on AGT. At the time, I had no idea what KZbin even was, so it was the first time I heard u sing, and I was amazed. And I was reminded of you today, so I looked up your KZbin channel to see how u've turned out, and I am both impressed, and happy that I, and everyone else who watched you that night, were right about you. I yelled at my mom to grab her phone and vote for you imediately after I got over my shock. I remember that u said something about singing Phantom Of The Opera songs a lot when u were younger (after I finally watched it, I did the same), and now I finally hear u sing one of the best Phatom songs. What a confident performer she is! Notice how casually she looks to the conductor at her left for a cue at 3:22, that being only one of a couple times throughout the song. She is acutely aware of the orchestration, and the audience as well, while immersing herself in the music and the lyrics, delivering the song with such sensitivity and feeling. Btw, she introduced each song herself, her guest performers and accompanists as well.

At this time in Jackie's career, at age 12, there was concern about protecting her voice with the album (Songs of the Silver Screen) and this concert. Consequently, there are fewer demonstrations of her power and incredible high range. This is one of them. Nevertheless, the breadth of her talent is astonishing. The DVD of this concert for PBS Great Performances includes Jackie's introductions of every song and guest performer as her own MC.

Who else agrees that 2012 was the best year musically for Jackie? She literally made so many amazing performances, traveled to so many amazing places, met so many amazing people, and all when she was 12! What an angel 👼 it’s not every day that you meet someone as amazing as her.
