Thank you David for hosting the interview with Sir Jackie. I thank Jackie for all the safety measures enacted due to his proactive lobbying in the sport. A small minority of fans mistakenly think that safety has degraded Formula One but quite the opposite is true. Racing deaths have now become rare and because it inspires confidence to race hard, drivers now push closer to the practical limits of the car without concern that they could lose their lives at any race weekend.

I would love to ask Sir Jackie Stewart what he thought of the 1984 Monaco GP. Jacky Ickx was Clark of the course and through the red flag. I know Ickx was completely against safety for F-1 races when Sir Jackie started his push for safety in F-1. Did Jacky Ickx go soft by 1984? Have all the greatest respect for both Jackie Stewart and David Coulthard. ( bows deeply and most respectfully to these great gentlemen ).
