Very underrated song from a very/perpetually underrated artist. There was a time frame from around 2005-2012 where Mason Jennings almost never missed. He just never fit the right boxes they wanted to put him into. And there is deep sorrow but also boundless, seen but also still yet unseen joy in that (gems are only valuable because they are rare, scarce things).

Checking in on this song in 2022. Jack’s music is timeless. As good today as it was 15 years ago. But, I put him in that dangerous category with bands like The Grateful Dead and Sublime. If I listen to one, there’s a pretty good chance I’ll end up listening to the entire catalog.

I believe that the love and time always heal beyond the reflection of the eyes, the wounds of trust are the deepest and most difficult to heal ... but the love and times always heal ... in the hidden gaze but in the silent acts until a new look rises again reflecting a new light flash of a scar as or more beautiful than the 1st look ... time and love always heals ... Although few can and want to have or care for ... time and love always heal you have to learn to love the wound and take responsibility
