I got my 336 new in 1983 when I turned 18, right beside it was a Model 94. $139.95 each new. The Winchester felt sloppy to me so I got the Marlin. Had I known at that young age the genius of John Moses Browning I would own both now.... Great video sir!

Ugh, that 1960's early '70's impressed checkering on the rifle in the foreground. All the manufacturers (Rem, Ithaca, Winchester, Savage, etc.) had guns with that abomination back then. Regular smooth wood looks so much better.

I recently bought the new Marlin in 44 mag, great gun. However, what's sad is on Marlins web site the 30-30, 44 mag and 357 mag all MSRP for 1,279.00. I have seen them sold on gun broker for over 2,300. for the 30-30. Taking about price gouging and taking advantage of the situation! Would love to buy the 30-30, but refuse to be ripped off. And just for the record, the 30-30 is the only one being sold for way over. My 44 mag was under 1,000 at academy.
@jackofalltrades78224 күн бұрын
It is incredible what the prices are on GB. The problem is that someone will probably pay it further fueling the outrageous prices. It was the same when there were ammo shortages and GB sellers were charging ridiculous prices for ammo. Personally, I hope those price gougers end of eating their investment. Thanks for the comment and for watching.

I never seen anyone say wow Winchester 94,.......except Gun Store Nut's. But everyone loved the Marlin Lever gun variants. I was a Winchester fan,....But Winchester went out of business in 1980. I had a Suzuki Quad racer and a guy at work wanted it he traded me 2 1965 Winchester 94's,.... but I didn't want/ Like them I only Like Marlins. My Marlin shot great,... the Winchesters worked fine but were not as accurate as the Marlin. I went to a gun store and traded it for a Oregon arms Chipmunk pistol. I doubt they gave me anything for the Winchester 94. Now that many years have passed which was the better gun. Marlin can only shoot jacked bullets with its Microgroove Rifling's. While the Winchester can shoot all bullets even Lead cast Bullets,.... which are way cheaper to shoot. Microgroove rifling's suck in 30-30 they cant shoot lead bullets. But in a Model 60 22LR lead shoot's great and the barrel never seems to clog and shoot bad like the 30-30? My Rossi Puma lever gun will shoot Lead ammo all day no problems. If Marlins have regular Rifling's now then I'd consider them a better Big Game Gun if they can shoot hard cast bullets. I like what Henry did they added a Tube Loader and the receiver loading port and they added performance,.... 308. Do a video of Lever on Lever action Sears Rifles and Shotgun's.

I think that the Marlin 36-336 is the best of the 30-30’s with the exception of the Savage 99. The Savage is capable of firing and holding Spitzer bullets in its mag. The 336 can also but only as a 2 Shot. While l will always love the 336 the 99 which was designed in 1899 is just a bit better and a touch more accurate in my mind.

You're right. Ruger is charging what the market will bear. At this point they're producing numerous iterations of the 1895 in .45-70, the 336 but only in .30-30 and I think they're producing some model 1894's in .44 Rem mag. I'd like to see them produce the .35 Rem and the 444 Marlin, but I know they never will. Henry chambers a rifle in .35 Rem and Rossi is now producing 444 Marlins in their R95 model.
