Nice review. I'm a collector and own all three of these firearms. I have a problem with the design on the Taurus and Sig. Taurus 1911s in the past were a sloppy mess. Since HQ moved to Bainbridge, they've really stepped up their game, however, the contour of the front is still grossly out of spec from the 1911 design. I do wish they'd refresh that. Other than that, mine have performed well. My issue with the Sig is the external extractor. It works well and the quality is definitely there, but the extractor looks as out of place as mud flaps on a Porsche. For the last 3 years or so, that model Tisas can be found for $300 plus/minus, any day of the week. This model of Tisas is not only their base model, but it's also the most accurate reproduction in this group. Tisas does offer other models with various levels of upgrades. The plastic grips are authentic. If your grandfather was issued one during WWII, his would have had plastic grips on it.

I bought the Tisas yesterday, and I ran four mags through it when I got home. Your review is spot on, and I only paid $329.00 for it. Could NOT pass that up.

The Tisas is Series 70 correct, meaning that colt series 70 parts will fit. They are an OEM manufacturer of frames and slides for bigger companies such as Ed Brown and Springfield Armory etc. I’ve taken them and stripped them down and rebuilt when with Wilson combat springs because the factory springs are a bit weak. Overall Tisas make a good 1911.

I have a stainless Springfield Loaded 1911 45 and I just bought a Tisas B45 duty model with ambidextrous safety because I am a lefty. The Tisas is a true milspec 1911, you can swap parts with other 1911s and so far function just as my Springfield at half the price. Tisas pricing is due to their economy which has nothing to due with the quality of their pistols tho. Prices are going to move up a bit but not much. Tisas uses top notch CNC machining so their production is that of many other overpriced manufacturers making 1911s robbing people.

I am one to believe a .45ACP FMJ can defend you from a bear. I don't understand why people think you need an RPG. I also don't think the animal would survive a magdump. I don't think that's how it works I think there are so many keyboard warriors out there.

If I remember correctly, Tisas had a recall on models for possible hammer follow. SDS fixed it. And if you don’t want to send it in for repair, it’s fairly easy to fix hammer follow oneself with replacement internals and minimal fitting. I own 3. No problems.
