I was a contestant on "Shoot for the Stars" in 1977, and yes this was the theme music used for that show. The premise had familar sayings paraphrased and split in half, the first half to be guessed by the celebrity contestant, the second by the regular contestant. I did not win, but it was a great pleasure to meet my celebrity co-contestant Rita Moreno. I remember thinking host Geoff Edwards looked tense around the neck and shoulders.

The Object of the Game is to Find the Player with the Jackpot Riddle, and Solve the Riddle Correctly. Also, Before the Game Begins, There'll Be a Pre-Selected "Target Number". If at Anytime the Last Three Digits of the Jackpot Match the Target Number, You'll Have a Chance to Win the "Super Jackpot".

I did about 300 episodes with Mike. I ran the number boards, we used a hacked Apple II computer. Bumper Stumpers was more high tech, Commodore 64 computers. I had the main amount board from Jackpot in my garage for many years. I finally threw it away. So many years ago!

If Jackpot comes back, an updated and modernized version of the 1985-1991 set should be used, with the main logo, the Jet Set theme, and the top prize of $100,000.

Bob Stewart also used this theme music in an unsold pilot called "Twisters", hosted by Jim Perry. It never made it to air, although the pilot seemed worth watching.
