Wow, so glad to see this. Nice drone shots. I spent a week there as a Summer Camp with school back in the 70's. It was a 5th grade outing project fro Central Elementary where we learned about wilderness skills and mining. The boys slept in one cabin and the girls in the other. I was intrigued by the story of the Chinese miners and have tried to research several times over the years but never found much information about it.

I hauled logs out of the Lilly white are a few years ago, some of the guys I logged with always said they had strange things happen to them when they were camped out up there.

Yes! when i went camping there when I was like nine we would hear scratching, knocking, and walking around in the bigger building while it was empty and locked.

What is the music at the beginning and end of the video? Excellent video in terms of content and technical quality.

In 1880, in Grant County, the population of the miners was 70-80% Chinese and they actually came over as mining companies, not the long-thought story that they came in due to poverty in China and just picked through the remains of the white miners. If you look into the Chinese Diaspora project put together by Southern Oregon they have a lot of accurate information on this, and not just legend, which often just spreads misinformation.

I know this doesn't haven't have to with mining but myself and my family drew a mule deer tag for the Beulah unit. Where is a good central place to camp for me beings I have a 37' father wheel toy hauler?

Pat, I am not super familiar with that unit so I probably wont be a lot of help! Thanks for being a member!

Hey, so I signed up and I don't see any membership videos? Am I dull or are you having a delay uploading ? No worries, keep up good work. I emailed you this last winter about Sanger and the Eagle Creek hydro plant, I just lost the time to get back to you. I couldn't find anything other than a mention in the newspaper archives. Cheers!
