It debut at #1 for about 3 weeks and was knocked off by Brittany Spears and it was called a flop but went double platinum. Basically anything Mike put out after Thriller that didn’t go diamond was considered a flop. Oh and yeah Dangerous and Bad both went diamond.

Jack Reacts he got into with Sony and they stopped him from being able to promote the album, which is why there aren’t a lot of videos from this album. He spoke out about it at a press conference and called Tommy Motolla the devil. I wish he would’ve been able to do more because I love that album.

I am 36 years old and was introduced to MJ during the “Bad” era, but listened to a Thriller. I still say “Bad” and “Dangerous” albums are his best.....but when “Invincible” album came out.......I was blown away how PERFECT he went like straight up edgy R&B. Invincible is very underrated. I think the lack of marketing for this album has something to do with that. Michael was pissed with Sony, and Tommy Mottola in particular, over this. His songs have some kind of magical formula. Everything in the arrangement - the music, lyrics, harmony, beat, instruments, the use of choirs etc... - create an otherwordly layered sensory experience. The way he sings, whether intense, playful, fiery and passionate or soulful, tender, quiet and sometimes heartwrenching...it really gets you. You really hear it and feel it. You cannot help but move or be moved. When you see people in frenzied tears at his concerts, you start to understand why. They're 'shortcircuiting' because they're in the presence of greatness.

Heaven Can Wait is my favorite. I saw your reaction to it. That's the CD that Sony didn't push. That's why it's his most underrated album. This was his comeback album and they didn't push it. I am soooo glad that Invincible is getting some love! This album is incredible, but most people would not know because Sony did everything to sabotage promotion of it and the media were the usual haters. Michael was so very versatile as a entertainer and musician. He did it all: RnB, Soul, Classical, Rock, Pop, Gospel, Jazz, New Jack Swing, that's why he is the king!
