This album is extremely underrated, I've always loved this album, he worked his ass off, and it broke records for its time, he was the first black artist to sell an album on the level he did with this album, Man, I love that this album exists, he did a great job, and to be honest, I'm so glad to hear people say they love this album, even though it was a record breaking album, and it helped launch his career, it saddens me that the timing, as right as it was, was not right enough, his work is pure genius and let be clear, he is innocent! We still love you MJ, we all will carry your legacy for generations to come so they can enjoy the magic and wonder you gave us!

The late Rod Temperton wrote a lot of songs for Michael on the "Off the Wall" & "Thriller" albums like the title tracks "Off The Wall" and "Thriller", as well as "Rock With you" & "Lady in My Life". Temperton also wrote for other artists like George Benson, "Give Me The Night" Temperton was from the group Heatwave from the late 70s. You should check out some of their stuff..."Boogie Nights", "Groove Line", "Mind Blowing Decisions", "Always and Forever" to same a few....a great band. Johnny Wilder Jr was the lead singer of Heatwave, but stopped performing with them after becoming paralyzed from a car accident & starting doing A capella gospel music before his death at age 56. The gospel choir I used to sing with performed at a concert that he also performed at back in the 90s and I got a chance to meet him....a great singer & nice person .

This song is timeless. We had fun dancing to this album and singing it on the streets in our neighborhood (sing off) I am probably 30 years Jacks Senior and yes this song was a big deal in my generation. Love this song. And yes the baseline is ridiculous. As people have pointed out, Louis Johnson, who worked with Michael on a number of songs on the Off The Wall and Thriller albums is who is killing the bass. Since you liked this, it’s a great link for you to check out The Brothers Johnson which is Louis Johnson’s funk band from the 70’s. They were one of the baddest funk bands of the time and had a lot of classic hits. They were sick. Please check them out.

This is the best production album ever. Back when you had real instruments to produce your sound. Even tho it didn’t sell as much as thriller eventually did (still did 30 million) it rivals it in the quality of the songs and the production is better

If you love Off The Wall album then you should Listen to 'The Jacksons Triumph Album'. Every song on that album is a hit. This was produced just before Michael started his solo career. Michael vocals especially was amazing on the Triumph Album.
