From early beatboxing-esque vocals to soaring alternate takes and scratch melodies, I found SO many easter eggs in this Off The Wall era multitrack session. I'm excited to share them with you!

MJ proved with this album that he also was in the disco game but at the same time it is said that the album "Off The Wall" marked the end of the disco era, but... an unforgetable new era was about the go down next where he himself would lead... reigning supreme! 👑

@@jayda1k_ Triumph is rather 1980, I was rather meaning the previous ones. Triumph still has Can you feel it and Hotel which are great tunes equal to greatest MJ's. I dare recommend hear again 'Destiny' (the tune).
@jayda1k_
@jayda1k_ 10 ай бұрын
@@antonmk1244that’s not what I meant. Michael leaned into songwriting even further. Him honing into his songwriting and producing capabilities led to tracks like those you mentioned. Only thing is, those little rhythmic nuances of his, like his post-thriller grit, shrieks, hiccups, and breaths are fully imagined on Triumph. Think Thriller, without the excess-paranoia.

♫ *TOLD YA! So get onnn the flo-a-o-a-o-a-oarrrrr...and dance with meee.* ♫ ♫ *I luh-oh-uh-oh-ove the way you shake that thang, gurrrl. ESPECIALLY.* ♫ This was the Michael before the stress from the press. Look at how FREE he was back here! The playfulness in those vocals. The sheer utter JOY he expressed! You see him smiling through the vocal! He was just uninhibited & fully free here. He was so loose on these vocals! I used to sleep on this song when I heard it on cassette when I was younger. But once I heard the 2001 Off The Wall remastered reissue on CD, I woke up to the sheer greatness of Get On The Floor! I wondered how I slept on it so long & it shot up to one of my favorite Michael songs EVER. There's something about this song, man, It feels like you're outside at night with a group around a campfire just outside of town having this musical ritual & transcending the astral plane or something. Everybody is communal & going into a trance in this song. You're being taken away from Earth for a little while here. It's powerful. It underlines the spirit of Off The Wall the most I feel. Pure unadulterated FREEDOM!

Thanks to your videos I have been able to see how good MJ was as a vocalist, and in that aspect he has been quite underestimated by some. There are many things that we overlook because we do not have the necessary knowledge and your analysis videos help a lot to learn about singing and MJ. This song is one of my favorites. MJ and Louis Johnson, excellent bassist, did an excellent job writing this song.

We're in this period where Mike sounds different. It's pop, groovy, disco, MJ's interpretation and the harmonization work of Quincy Jones and his team is incredible. They start from a very nice piece to elevate it to legendary status. I can't imagine the hours they had to spend writing, playing, singing, mixing to achieve this result. Imagine if Mike didn't do The Wiz and didn't ask Quincy Jones to work together? No, I don't want to imagine. Listen Chris, I'm almost 40 years old, I'm French, I discovered MJ at 10-11 years old at the time of History, having the MTV channel I saw an entire weekend dedicated to MJ's music videos and well that I don't speak English I fell in love with this artist, he gave so much in the studio, on stage, shattered all the glass ceilings in terms of video, audio, racial, that it was impossible to miss, god bless his soul.

Chris, this ain't Funk music. This is *FOHNK* music! Pronounce with the LONG O like OH! Hahahahaha! Every one of these Michael songs has these deep buried layers in the instrumental doing all KIND of stuff! You never hear these details in the overall mix quite like this. Just so much musicality in it, it's CRAZY! This is an early comment merely after how you expertly splice in those instrumental layers. I'll have more to say after you get into Michael's vocals. Get On The Floor is just...GOD! Wow. That's my song, man. *FOHNK!!!*

Just another Great video. In my opinion that was MJ best solo album, very musical, Not to polished and Raw. If you can brake down "I can't help it" from the same album. The Great Stevie Wonder wrote it, you can hear his chords all over it. Then I would say Human Nature would be another or Lady in my life both of course from Thriller. I love the ISO tracks just shows how much it takes to build a single song and in those say it was done on 24trk and had to lock the last tracks w/TC to make them 24 tracks I know cause im 57 and was around for that area
