I use it for building bases. I hate having to build contraptions with the drills pistons etc to get the shape I want. Sometimes the grinding etc to get resources gets a bit time-consuming when its just you and a few friends playing as well on survival.

now i want a version that allows for shapes like tubes, spheres and maybe pyramids also an option that would only collect a selected ressource and leave everything else in the ground would be nice

As of 05/17/2024 I tried this mod. I Set up my mining area ok. Turned it on and have all green lit up. The Piston holding the drill head shakes. I do not see any beams shooting out and the Drill is not doing anything but shaking. I have used the original Drill and Fill Mod for years. Now none seem to work.

I made a can drone that can control the drill area for a bunch of these drills. (Haven't tested with new version of mod) Though I didn't include good instructions for setting up the scripts I write that do it....I uploaded the blueprint for the drone... And in theory you just need to add the mining system script to the grid with the drills and make sure it has an antenna so it can talk to the drone. The new blocks look really nice.
