~30min is actually pretty standard for a small grid miner of full cargo and full thrust. I've tried many different miners over the years and have yet to see a small grid early-game capable (nothing too crazy or requiring gold/silver/plat/ur) ship that can last more than 1hr - at a certain point, your'e getting too many diminishing returns trrying to add more power and either notbeing able to fit into tunnels easily, or having to balacne extra weight with more thrust that just takes more power, making it irrelevant. Not saying it's not possible to make a power-heavy build, but you're not goign to do it easily with a typical small grid sized frame for a miner, and most of the biggers ones want to fit more cargo which ahs the same issues with power.

@ScarryHarry93 I have too, it really is on the low side for a ship that size in survival. If you are lucky and you have most of the resources you need close, 30 minutes or more will be enough. I have had some starts where I didn't have anything for 2-5k away from a lake I found to get started.

@@Vdidty Ya, I also forgot to mention I typically play with a slight increase to inv, so the extra load doesn't help in my case. On a default 1x world it would help a lot more but then you barely get anything per trip lol

@ScarryHarry93 I understand. It makes the game play longer and more work the closer you get to realistic mode. Tried it a few times. It is fun to try out the different settings to see how the game plays. To build the ship and to make it look that way, you would ruin the appeal of the style just to add a slight amount of time. It becomes a tight line between looks and desired function for some of us.

I should upload my designs. I believe they are cheap and efficient

So you should actually start testing the power draw if ships in these videos. All you need to do is hold "forward" "Up" and "Side" thrust at the same time. Something tells me this thing would have maxed out those batteries, maybe even empty.

The true engineer only taps forward to a certain speed, groups all 'backwards' thrusters and turns them off, and them simply glides to his destination :P
