My wife and I are planning a trip to New Mexico next summer with our dog. So I love seeing the places you take your dog!

Awesome! Most places are dog friendly here. The main places you can't take you buddy is Bandelier NP, or inside any gov't buildings, welcome centers, etc. Other than that, most trails and campgrounds are good! Let us know any other questions you may have! And thanks for watching.

Thanks so much for posting this video! I’m planning to get there as early as I can on a Tuesday. I have a 29 foot trailer and it looks like there’s plenty of bigger trailers at the site which is reassuring although I am a bit nervous about the drive up. Could you tell me if they only accept cash payment?

I am not sure about payment. Many campgrounds have gone to the scan & pay, but the wifi up there is non-existent.....so maybe cash only? The drive up can be tricky as there is a section that is narrow with some blind curves. Take it slow... and have a great time!

Hi Robin. I watched this video and your video on hiking the Jack's Creek Trail from @1 years ago. I have a cabin nearby, but have never hiked the Jack's Creek Trail. Can you tell me how difficult the hike from the trailhead up to the fork is? I believe you said in the video that you turned around at 2.5 miles. Is that mileage to the fork, or past it? Also, a friend told me the horse trail is shorter, because it avoids the switchbacks, but I don't really want to use a trail that is designated for horses only. I was told the horse trailhead is on the left side of the corral at the south end of the equestrian camp. Any experience with that? Thanks for any info you can share! And keep up the great videos!

thanks! The fork is at about 2 mile mark, we went a bit farther up the trail. I would say the trail to that point is Moderate if you are doing as a day hike, just carrying a day pack with water and snacks. If you are backpacking it is definitely Harder. I would use the regular trail with the switchbacks as it has more shade, I think.

Love Jacks Creek. Love the views of the mountains. Stayed a couple years ago in our pop up on the lower loop next to the bathrooms (If I remember correctly). Welcome to your new fur baby! Thanks for sharing!!
