JACKS on Bent Minnows | Sight casted land based!

G'day Everyone! Another jack's episode from the trip...in this one I got to experience something quite unique...during dead low tide, I found out that mangrove jacks in those small estuaries tend to just wonder around sunbathing under the surface. They don't seem to be very active and tend to spook if presented a fast moving lure but it was really cool and interesting to see how their behaviour was changing completely when a dying baitfish imitation was presented to them...they just couldn't resist it and came form quite a log distance away to smash it!!
Being able to see this in person was a great experience and I'm glad I managed to capture it so I can share it with you all.
The good new is that I managed to repeat this, and every session after that got even better! So stay tuned because in the coming weeks you will see some unreal footage!!

I’m currently back in Australia and we have had too much rain lately…our estuaries are full of freshwater and mangrove snapper aren’t active unfortunately. My advice is to target them 2h before low tide (last 2h of run out), low tide and then the first 2h of run in. They tend to hang out very close to structure so target those areas, rocks, trees in the water, snags, mangrove roots, etc. If there is tidal movement you should use faster moving lures or retrieves, when current slows down or stops you have to use slower approaches. Again, if you go through the videos I recommended you, you should be able to get a lot of info from them too.
